While I don't want to take this out of context, but do you guys feel this could be a hint of beta?

But thanks, yeah looks like a teaser for beta patch notes. Most likely beta is going to be in same client as PTR just like they have done with RoS Diablo 3 expac.

Yeah, it can't be alpha. As he wouldn't tease people like that. 5.4.7 isnt big enough to warrant so much editing. beta is the only thing possible.

I played MoP beta along with millions of others so I can't remember; was the prepatch live on the PTR same day as Beta for expac went live?

i dont think 5.0 made it till a month away from release.

I quick google search shows the beta started in late March and the 5.0.4 PTR was in late July. (One month before it hit live.)

Edit: On topic he's probably intentionally playing the "don't give up hope, it's coming soon..." card after the recent twitter drama.

Thank you for clarifying that. Whether or not prepatch goes on PTR any time soon, even if I don't get into WoD Beta I am still looking forward to reading about and watching the changes.

Now that my initial hype has worn down.

It's one of three things

5.4.7 patch notes.
The tweet was made when this batch was made.
Changes weren't huge that warrant such a brain melt down for CM, but possibility of them being the one is there.
Very probable.
Alpha notes
I don't think blizzard employees would tweet about alpha. After his last tweet hype. I can't see him tweeting about that.
Highly unlikely.

Beta notes.
Would warrant a mind melting tweet. With the confrence days away. Beta is probably about here.

It could potentially be the 5.4.7 notes, because more PvP changes would be wise or the next season is going to be a mess from the DPS scaling.

It's more likely to be 6.0 or beta notes though, which will be very interesting to read. Definitely hope that he edits fast. (and before someone says it, yes I realize the speed that he edits at doesn't impact the release date of the notes)

No, the upcoming patch is going to be a PvP patch only. In reality the majority of the content on the patch requires very minimal effort and assets. In example the onquest gear is just switching existing armor colors around between Horde and Alliance, and upping the ilvl of Conquest Gear. More than likely to bring PvP gear within the ballpark of PvE gear for 6.0

Probably a hint at the Beta notes. It is the only thing that I can think of that would warrant a 'brain melting' tweet. 5.4.7 is too small, and 6.0 is far too early to even think of considering notes for given the scale of changes that occur with Beta. Process of elimination leaves it to be Beta notes.

I think beta will start in june/july, then we will get launch in september october, launch will not be in summer because there is hardly anyone who plays during that time, so I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet. Remember this post btw, it won't miss by much :P

Seems like a major beta tease to me. Intriguing, and just two days before Activision Blizzard's Fourth Quarter Calendar 2013 Results Conference Call. Maybe a beta announcement is imminent (as in happening today, it's only around 07:42 a.m. in California).
