Why It was still Saddam Hussen if its wrong to invade the Iraq for humanitarian reasons the crimea action is wrong too because there wasn't even a humanitarian reason and Russia disarmed them prior to it on top.
They are not creations the US did back them up but that doesnt make them any better how is it wrong to get rid of them?
As for the dude getting infracted... this thread is a joke since page 100 and didnt add any useful input since then. Only hatred, especially from americans in this thread. The only joke in this thread are the mods who didnt close it.
Crimea is over... no one cares already, really.
Ukraine is pulling out of Crimea: It looks like Russia is trying to buy off the soldiers before they leave though: Ukraine orders its troops to leave Crimea, Russia offers better pay for them to change sides.
And finally, the EU will apparently be hitting a few more of Putin's presumed henchmen with sanctions.
"In today’s America, conservatives who actually want to conserve are as rare as liberals who actually want to liberate. The once-significant language of an earlier era has had the meaning sucked right out of it, the better to serve as camouflage for a kleptocratic feeding frenzy in which both establishment parties participate with equal abandon" (Taking a break from the criminal, incompetent liars at the NSA, to bring you the above political observation, from The Archdruid Report.)
If considered an invasion yes. But since there are many factors at play including a violent revolt taking place a few miles away, potentially "repressive" laws about part of the population, and the reckless behaviour of the interim government, plus the will of Crimea to be independent to begin with, there is definitely a possibility that what Russia did in Crimea wasnt an invasion and rather "pre emptively" defending their bases and people.
We might have avoided a very likely civil war.
But yeh, the western world condemning Russia is a joke after all that we did. USA France UK... I mean.

To summ it up, a small Chechen pro-Islamist group wanted to seperate from Russia and create their own Islamic state similar to Aghani Taliban. The rest of the population of Chechnya wants to remain part of Russia while only small militant groups are still trying to destabilize the region.
