Doesn't matter how many servers get connected. Zones like Silithus will still be deader than dead if you don't have a much larger server pool to draw from.

The only thing I hate about CRZ is when you have a 2 person flying mount, you fly over the border to another zone, the person on your back falls off and dies
I cried alone every single night. It felt like every day that passed here stole another piece of my real life away. After i cried, I’d go and fight as hard as I could. My only thought was winning, moving forward, and getting stronger. — Asuna Yuuki

It was also probably a way for Blizzard to look at useful data regarding how a transition to higher zone populations would impact players' gameplay and perception of the game.
I think it's obvious that if server connections are done properly, there is no more need for CRZ.
Speak for yourself. I was leveling in westfall the other day. grouped up with a random person from another server and we blow through some quests until we hit 15. then proceeded to do some dungeons together. Sadly they had the exp potion also so it only lasted for 3 dungeons
MMO-Champ the place where calling out trolls get you into more trouble than trolling.
thats more to do with its leavel range and where it is. its a 55-60 zone when i level i hit 57 and then get stuck if most ppl are in that situation they spam the dungeon finder for a level insteadt of going to sithilus or winterspring ect. or if ppl have exp potions they hit 58 without having to go there

So competition is bad? Before CRZ, things like "rares" were not rare at all. Especially with account wide acheivements, One could just roll a DK on a low pop realm and go farm things like poseidus or whatever with ease. And Competition over resources is moot and a terrible argument because spawn rates are based on the rate resources are collected. More people = faster respawns = everyone gets more resources.
Collect X of Y quests not encouraging cooperation has nothing to do with xrealm and more to do with the person behind the computer. When I'm leveling, I turn down random invites because thats what I do. Long has it been since people actually whisper first and invite second. If people actually asked for help to speed things up, you wouldn't run into this issue as often.
Theres also the difference for those quests that they don't have ridiculously low drop rates anymore like in Vanilla or TBC where grouping honestly did make things go faster.
I agree. Which is why I am pleased they are offering paid boosts. No more fighting a bunch of heirlooms and pandas in Westfall for some piles of dirt and coyote tails. I miss the days when I could quest all day in Westfall and maybe see 5 other people. Now there are 20+ there at any given moment.
Another annoyance is CRZ forces my new realm to share Elwynn Forest with MoonGuard. Levels 1-10 have never been so painful questing when I hear moaning from upstairs while I fight my way through the pornstars just to get to Mr. Pestle to turn in Grandma's note and then again to get an elixir made for Maybel.
Immersion on my RP realm is BLOWN.
to me its silly that blizzard even defends crz while at the same time selling level 90 characters. i prefer my leveling areas empty.
I think the OP is referring to zones being defaulted to CRZ rather than removing the ability for players to form CRZ groups. I would prefer CRZ not to be the default state but something that players control.
And that's why CRZ will become active in WoD as there will be fewer people doing the MoP stuff.
I picked a low population server intentionally because I wanted to be well known by the community on that realm, and I didn't want competition over world related things. (Like farming enchants, mining, herbs, etc). The population wasn't too high or low for me.
We all have to play on "high population" servers now (since CRZ) and i don't like it.
Almost everyone who PVP'd knew who I was on Demon Soul. I was loved or hated, and even as an Alliance player I had a horde guild invite me on Vent and I'd BS with them all the time. I can't make friends on a big server, because it's hard to recognize an individual when you're throwing lots of individuals at something.
The only thing I do like about CRZ is my things sell faster, but that is, in all honesty, it.
I think it's ridiculous to assert that CRZ brought "nothing good" to the game. What you may mean is it brought more bad than good. That might be more fair, but I suspect that it's still not true since CRZ implementation was probably a technical and possibly a business prerequisite for connected realms.
Sounds like OP just doesn't like playing with other people that much. Really the game is better when you only see 5 other people in a zone?
That is true I guess for some of the zones that feel more immersive when empty (Ferelas; Silithus, Blasted Lands) but places like Westfall or Redridge (especially considering this is where the NEW players will be) should be full of players experiencing an MMO.
I disagree. The more people out in the world there are to kill, err, to quest with, the better. Even on high population realms, most zones are pretty much empty. I admit the zone transitioning is a little annoying, but still. The good outweighs the bad.
