Should I buy Diablo 3- ROS?

    Hey guys.

I played Diablo 3 when I got it free on the annual pass a few years ago and stopped playing after a month or so.
I came back a few weeks ago when people said it had changed completely, and i'm quite liking it, but I can't decide whether to buy Reaper of Souls or not, i'm not one of these hardcore players that are like 100 Paragon or anything, I think i'm only paragon 20 or something, I just can't decide whether to buy it or not.

Is it worth £32 for just another act? I honestly can't decide.

I was in a similar position, I hadn't played the game for about a year but gave it another go in patch 2.0 and found the game in a much better state, I have to say I'm loving it ATM and made my pre order a few days ago. For £35 you will surely get your monies worth, the new act along with the new adventure mode, new class and new level 70 loots should easily give you enough content to justify the purchase.

We cant decide too. How we can know if you enjoy this type of games or not?

Wait for the reviews good fellow, wait for the reviews, you lose nothing for waiting, but gain a good arguments to make your decision.

If you don't know if you should buy it or not then don't. Wait for it to release, read reviews, watch videos, wait for a sale, wait for the motivation to play it - like wanting to play with friends, etc.

You basically answer your own question just by the very fact you needed to ask it No one can know whether it's worth it for you, but you!

Sorry if that wasn't very helpful but best I can do.

Too bad almost reviews for D3 is poisoned by D2 fanboy butt hurts that cant handle change. RoS is great and if your a real diablo fan you would pick it up asap. RoS far surpasses " Lord of lets call only 1 viable run endgame " in my books. Blizzard is well on there way down the path of " fixing " the game for all them crybaby's.

If you enjoy playing D3 then it's worth it, if not... RoS is just more of the same.

I'm not so sure. I'm in the same boat as the OP, i got it with the season pass, was disappointed and stopped playing . But i did try it again last week to test the loot 2.0 patch and it's actually fun now. I played a lot and enjoyed it.
But i'm still thinking about buying the addon. There is only one new class and i don't like paladins in fantasy games. Then there is the new act that i'm very interested in but it seems to be ~3 hours long. And then there is the adventure mode and actually i don't get it. It sounds like the normal campaign but you can play it in any order and get some killquests in every zone that give extra loot.
That's not very much for the 40 Euro pricetag...

I know it's kinda off topic, but why don't you like paladins in a fantasy setting? That's kind of the first I've heard of such a thing.

Also the game can be bought for ~30€ from the US site, just gift it to yourself.

But back on topic. If you don't like endless hack and slash/dungeon crawler games it probably isn't for you. If you enjoy Diablo 3 as it now is then it's really the question whether or not you want to spend money on it. Personally I've bought it already, the changes they made with 2.0.1 basically sold it for me, and I also have 5 friends who are going to play it at least for a few hundred hours so I got that too.

I have stopped playing D3 a year ago and came back with 2.0 and I´m having a metric fuckton of fun and I´m looking forward to RoS.

Paladins are usually low damage high defense warriors with limited healing capabilities and group buffs. That playstyle just doesn't appeal to me since it's mostly slow and boring. And i don't like the general concept of holy warriors. But it's just a matter of personal preference.

But thanks for the tip with the US store, i will look into that.

This is, however, a Crusader, not a Paladin. Crusaders tend to be much more offensive character classes. That said, I've seen and played in *many* fantasy universes were Paladins were capable of extremely versatility, from being the most efficient damage dealers, to fortress-like tanks. Hell, even the D2 Paladin was capable of dealing - insane- amounts of damage and had no way of healing himself, aside from the ways that were available to all other classes (potions, lifesteal etc).

I'm trying to buy the expansion with USD but if I want to add Battle.net balance I'm always redirected to the eu.battle.net site and I need to pay in euro's again. Anyone know how to deal with buying RoS as a gift for yourself?

Wait. I hated D3 with passion because it was horrible game, simply horrible. But since 2.0 this is something completely new, feels like old school Diablo again. But just wait with expansion, if you havent played since 2.0 just try it first. I still have around 2-3 months of fun with Diablo 3-2.0 untill i consider buying expansion.

If you think another act is all you are getting, then Reaper of Souls is definitely not for you. As for reviews, there are a plethora of videos from the late end of beta on YouTube showing all the new features. A bit of research may help you make up your mind.

No, you should not buy it.

Diablo 3 v2.0 improved the game vastly, and i reckon you will get a lot of hours from it with the rifts and adventure mode. Will you enjoy it? None of us can tell.

On another note, getting D3 on the annual pass wasn't 'free'. You had to pay a lot, even if taking advantage of a promotion or what not, it was an incentive, but you paid 13€\$ x 12 months to get it... even if you would have paid them anyway over time, it wasn't 'free', you commited to paying a year of subscriptions for it. But that's another story.

Ever since 2.0 it has vastly improved.

I have played the Beta(ROS) and was enjoying it immensely

Besides if you play WOW.. a possible 10 more months of SoO isn't very exciting

Reviews for a game like diablo is worth zero.
Imagine this. A dude who loves playing fifa and loves playing call of duty is going to review diablo 3 reaper of souls. A game where you need to play a lot to be able to enjoy it. Where the main goal is killing stuff over and over and over to get better stuff so you can kill stuff over and over and over just a tad bit faster.

a regular casual gamer reviewer like the ones hired all over the place for gaming websites and what not. Are way to casual to review diablo for what it really is
