I'm looking to upg my PSU. The goal here is to get a PSU that will allow me to OC the CPU and put in SAPPHIRE HD 6570 4GB DDR3 to use instead of the integrated one. Here's my build:
Now since i live in Montenegro and it would take ebay, amazon...etc... 25+ working days to deliver it i'd prefer if i could buy a PSU at our shops here. That being said i prepared a small list of available PSUs around here, and would like YOUR help on deciding the best one that fits my needs
if u really think u need a new psu then i would go for a 700w+, not only will this meet your needs now, but will more than likely meet your needs for your next 2-3 upgrades
the 450 u have now may do the job but from what ive read at least 600w is prob needed nowadays - i bought a 750w for about £60, and as u dont mention what sort of budget u have then i would go for the best u can afford
We wont need more and more and more wattage. Only time you need that is if you want to SLI cards. One of the biggest improvement on next gens wont be 10ghz chips or no cooling needed, but reducing the power usage. A good example is the 750 ti. It does not even need power from the PSU, pcie is enough on most cards.
For example, the r7 260x performs roughly the same as the 750 ti, but 750 ti uses about 30% less watts. 400 watts might be on lower side, but it is enough, but the manufacturer of the PSU says more then the advertised watts.
That CPU and a 750 Ti would consume around 140w during gaming. I'd suggest skipping the new PSU and that GPU and just go straight to a 750 Ti. It would net you a much larger performance increase.
