    Looking for help

Im in the market for a new rig looking to spend about 1000 us. I was planning on buying a prebuilt as I need everything including a monitor but a friend reccomended I ask for possible build suggestions here since im a first timer. What would get me the most value fpr my money a prebuilt or making my own and what should I be looking for?

Building it yourself will save anywhere from $100-$250, depending on how you go about it. Usually higher quality parts as well, since better selection.

In the meantime, answering all the questions from This Sticky will help.

And I'll move this to the build/upgrade subforum

removed the blue-ray writer. Do you really need a blueray writer?
still coming up a little short though dont want to cut anything more from the system. peripherals could be changed to lower cost but thats a personal choice.

You need to either up your budget by say $200 or you need to cut down that peripheral cost. The ones you chose are almost worth the proccessor value. In short, you either get 200 more for an i5 4670k with peripherals or go for an i3, or 1k without for i5 without peripherals (not that expensive keyboard-mouse) considering you need o/s as well.
