"Timewalker" Events? - Potential Quest Alternatives?

Hey everyone, stumbled across this on the Alpha and haven't seen any one else mention it, so I'd like to pose it for discussion.
Please check out the video first, so we can all be on the same page here.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4c72gSIXZdc

Now that you have seen it, what do you think of the event?
I'm a bit confused, as well as excited.

I would love to hear your discussion on two topics specifically.
    - Do we think this is meant to be a bridge between the worlds? I fancy this as the future, and the destruction of Draenor that was to come in the main story line. It appears fire is raining from the sky, and the ogres are falling as if the world is collapsing. Especially considering this zone is just not there, it really affirms this for me.
    - What do you guys think about events like this in the world? I have seen a few people, both here and on the official forums mention, despite the size of the zone, there is not much to do besides quest. Obviously these people are mistaken, but do we enjoy things like this? Things that take you away from the zone entirely and give you a break from the monotony of quests?

I would say yes, I do enjoy this very much. Currently, it does not appear to offer any EXP component, but I imagine it would in the future.
Looking forward to reading your thoughts!

seems to me like an event in space time separated from continuous flow of active time, similar to the events that caused the Timeless Isle to remain... timeless.
Because we are not attuned to that plane, it seems that we see the ogres inside static and frozen in time, as we for some reason continue to function in timeless space.
Presumably because we are of another dimensions timeline and so cannot be affected by time imparing effects within this dimensions events, possibly due to power lent to us by the Bronze Dragonflight?? (i have not finished the recent book)
The very fact you can interact with those ogres without succumbing to the same entrapment supports the theory, making any event that we change / enforce in this world separate from our own Draenor in our dimension, and ultimately raising the question of weather we (in the lore) can use this to our advantage somehow in future boss encounters, remembering of course that Garrosh too would be immune to the same effects as he himself is from our dimension and time.

Just a guess, or my interpretation of it anyhow. Either way a fun opportunity for some interesting story.

This seems to be one of those random events they said you could encounter during questing.

Well its not actually random! Its always there, and at least currently, gives the exact same loot each time you do it. I think its part of a bigger picture that tries to repaint the old lore over the world of Draenor.

I'm wondering if both toons he ran that on were int users or had an int loot spec set. Maybe that last item will correlate with your preferred loot

Good question! Ran through it on Protection Warrior and Elemental Shaman
So no, does not appear that way.

    Downscaling to old dungeons feature
You didn't watch the video, did you? This has nothing to do with dungeons.

It's still the alpha, I guess it will be randomly available during leveling and loot will be randomized. It looks like an ok feature. Not really anything to do than running and looting, but still good enough to break the monotony of questing. I would like it if you get a mob causing this effect (bronze dragon, most probably) to appear at the top of the tower and you fight him for the blue item. But overall, I like everything that adds into the outside world experience.
    I. Like. To. Kill. Things.

I agree, there is a lot to expand upon.
And ya, sorry for the confusion. Just didn't know what else to call it!

While it's interesting, it seems insanely short. Not sure what the real point of it is. Yeah, it seems kinda fun at first, a novel idea, and you get some loot. But if this is it, it seems pretty boring. I kinda like it, but it just seems like something that is a fun little distraction that will just be a forgotten mechanic. I don't see what else can really be done with it to expand it or make it more interesting.

I'm not sure its meant to be more than that, but it surely isn't finished.

Its just something to help keep the world feel alive.
I would like to see it stretched out a bit more though.
