Question Is an Alienware 14 or 17 better?

I am a heavy gamer, and also a student. Which one would be best for me?

    My first thought is... neither?

There are better/cheaper laptops for gaming. However than 17 is 'better' than the 14 since it has better specs. Twice as good though, with a $2100 price tag for the bottom version? Nuuu.

$1500 can buy you a very nice gaming laptop. Build one on hp's website. Check out newegg too.

In norway we have "Multicom" were you literally choose what parts you want, just as alienware, however with a good price.
Norway is expensive, yet say a laptop with :

    Multicom Xishan W370S 17.3" Full-HD
Matt Intel Core i5-4200M, 16GB, 256GB SSD, GeForce GTX 860M, DVDRW, Uten operativsystem
    Suveren kraftplugg -Dagbladet.no
    Ferdigmodell med god spillytelse
    4th gen Intel® Core™ i5
    256GB SSD
    GeForce GTX 860M

Has a price tag of 8000 KR - Which is roughly 1300 USD.

    Or a i5/765M with HDD 1TB for 950 USD. 13 INCH.

Even a top notch, no SSD.

    Multicom Kunshan P157S 15.6" Full-HD
Matt Intel Core i7-4710MQ, 8GB, 1TB 7200 Hdd, GeForce GTX 880M, DVD, Uten operativsystem
    Ferdigmodell med ekstrem spillytelse
    4th gen Intel® Core™ i7
    GeForce GTX 880M 8GB
    1TB 7200 Hdd
    Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260

    For just below 1950 USD.

That's Norway though.. If you're outside norway, sorry But I imagine similiar option do exist.

Alienware is never the choice unless you're rich enough to not care about spending money badly.

xoticpc can get you a rig with a 4810mq and 870m for 1500. You can also try checking your stores, I managed to find a rebranded GT dragon for 1200 euros(600 discount) full warranty.
