Button bloat was never a problem. If you had too many abilities on your bars, it's your own fault. Classes don't need every single one of their abilities on your hot bar.

Abilities arn't getting removed because of "bloat". They're getting removed to make the game easier.

A lot of useful abilities are getting removed. Here's whats getting deleted for Warlocks as an example.
Curse of the Elements, Demonic Rebirth , Flames of Xoroth, Twilight Ward, Fel Flame and possibly a couple others I missed.

There are many things I disagree with when it comes to wow. This is not one of them. Sometimes less is more. And it's not just removal of abilities, many are combined into one.

They are going too far, I agree. But button bloat did happen and would have only gotten worse with WoD had they not done anything.

A lot of things were really useless or just had to be kept refreshed. And a lot of the

Lets be honest, its the game being dumbed down even more for the simple folk. Every player has to be able to complete any task with barely any effort in Blizzard's recent models. That is why every tier gets easier, and is nerfed severely over time even after that. It is why we can't have realm firsts anymore, and it is why the game is turning into crap.

I could not disagree more. It is an issue. The vast majority of people do not hotkey *every* ability and stumbling to find it when the need arises if not on one of the bars is a pain. And remember that most people aren't using custom button-mods and toolbar mods to allow more onscreen at one time. Just because it's not something that bothers you doesn't make it stupid or any less of an issue for other people.

Without changes the game stagnates. Removing some unused things, rolling a few things together, and tidying up the game is not making it easier. It has been explained time and time again so there's no point in explaining WHY that is true here if you haven't been able to at least gather why many people think so by now.

I think you're wrong. There were too many abilities that didn't really serve a purpose or could be combined with another ability. Having abilities that a good player shouldn't even touch doesn't make the game more difficult, nor does removing excess abilities necessarily make it easier. That doesn't mean I agree with every choice they made, but it's part of a process I believe needed to happen.

I do think trimming was needed, but I agree they've gone way too far in many cases.

Maybe not for PvE, but for PvP yeah you really do, because you need to play your spec / class to the absolute limit if you want to perform well.

A little pruning is not a bad idea, but they removed some really nice (although situational) abilities. Like Soulshatter for Warlocks. And the reason was: "Tanks do more threat now."

I don't want them dumbing the game down and I still want high skill caps but there was definitely a tad too much shit when you consider that they have to add new things later. I already have more than a page of macros for certain classes and 60+ keybinds. I don't need any more, lol. But then again, I don't want people to only need 10 or 20 and the game to be totally linear...I still want to do cool shit not many people do like deathing sheeps, slow falling dark sim, etc. It's the little things like that that make the game fun and give it flavor. Blizz will literally kill WoW for an enormous amount of people if the game loses it's flair. They already do that by nerfing things like engineering, etc.

That's why I keep telling people to stfu about city placement and worry more about the ability pruning because it's the 1 thing that could make or break WoD and WoW itself.
