First of all, Robin Williams was a great actor and a lot of us will miss him dearly.

But seriously, why should he be in WoW? Just because he played it? Lots of players die daily who will never be an NPC (nor should they), why would a mere player as Robin be different?

As a fantastic actor as he was, he had nothing to do with World of Warcraft, apart from paying the monthly fee and playing it, like millions of us.

    No.

I had a cat died that my family loved. I'm going to start a petition for that cat to get into WoW.

Tier 3 full set on it or else Blizzard is showing favouritism towards dogs.

If you haven't noticed, wow is heavily laden with pop culture references that have no link to wow.

On a side note, he must have been hillarious to pvp or raid with in vent.

I wonder what his characters were.

Adding an entire zone around Indiana Jones or Rambo is borderline acceptable (know I cringed while typing this), adding an ingame memorial for a real life celebrity who had nothing to do with the game apart from being a regular player doesn't make sense.

Do this and every John, Mary and Nikolay will want someone from their family who played WoW as a npc, and then on what grounds could every single one of them be denied?

All it takes is a few people at Blizzard that really enjoyed Robin Williams to throw in a random NPC somewhere for him. It's not like it's really unheard of, I wouldn't be shocked if they did.

That being said, making a petition for him is definitely a no go, it would make it seem like that's all it takes to get someone a memorial or NPC in their memory into the game.

Holinka tweeted earlier that a petition was unnecessary, it WOULD happen, but the tweet has since been deleted.

EDIT: No sooner did I post this, when Celestalon tweeted this: https://twitter.com/Celestalon/statu...35185854156801

    I dont get the problem.
He played WCIII, he played WoW, he loved it, he raided, he was a part of the community. Theres a shit ton of nod and omages and memorials in WoW already.
Id rather have 1 Sir William of Mork, then fucking Uldum all over again.

Agreed. Judging by twitter, that doesn't look like it's going to be a problem either. A few Blizzard employees have already expressed their sympathies towards his family and we may just find something in game for him.

Overall though, no, I don't think trying to force Blizzard to do it with a petition is a good thing. Sure, he played the game, but who knows how long or if he was still involved at all. Remember him in your hearts, but don't force Blizzard to do something for you to remember him by.

As sad as it is, I hope his death goes on to do something good for Mental health issues. They're a horrible thing to live with, and many can't take it. With such a big name, hopefully something will be done to help those living with this day to day to have more, reliable help readily available to them.

i sort of see where your coming from, but he was a big part of western society and impacted a lot of peoples lives with his comedy & dramatic roles. If blizzard saw fit to add him into the game as a NPC in warlords of draenor to sort of pay homage to the joy he has brought to people, thats fine.
    Hi

    R.I.P. Robin Williams.

I would vote yes even though there is no need since it was confirmed to happen anyways.

And to the selfish butthurt snowflakes -wannabe in this thread,

    You disgust me.

My 2 cents. Don't bother flaming me or else, you lost the moment you post that crap.

he got nothing to do on world of warcraft so no ty

    Uhhhhh... NO!

Why bother with memorializing someone that took their own life, regardless of how funny he was. Besides it should be Nintendo that should do something considering his daughters' name is Zelda.

What does Harrison Ford have to do with WoW?

If what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Then I should be a god by now.
