Why was my thread closed?

I recently made a thread showing off some signature design works i have done and a few moments later the thread was closed:

Why was it closed? Was it the request thread i made aswell? Couldn't that have just been dealt with another way?

It was closed because we have a megathread for artists to not only answer requests for work but for them to show off their work. It's to keep the forum clean - imagine if every artist here posted their own thread. It would be a mess.

You're welcome to use the megathread. Introduce yourself and post some of your work. Please note any work you do must fit within our signature guidelines of 500 x 100px @ 50kb max.
