Still wondering why I play this game.
I'm a Rogue and I also made a spreadsheet for the Order Hall that is updated for BfA.
I'm not a mage and I think it's fun
I think it's fun because I laugh at the mage's paltry attempts to kill me by teleporting me to old dalaran while I have my handy goblin glider.

Words to live by.
No one in my guild trusts mages. We all hearth out after a raid now. Too much portal roulette has culminated in our inability to trust anyone of that ilk.
Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? With an expanded free trial which you can play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award winning Heavensward expansion up to level 60 for free with no restrictions on playtime?
Portal roulette is fun.
But did you expect much from them when they claimed that you shouldn't have to go to external sites to find out about your class while removing some passives from the spell book and saying that "if you really want to know you'll go look them up anyway".

I don't mind as long as they create a spell (minor glyph?) that allows us to create a portal to a random location, including Ancient Dalaran.
They should remove the Portal spell and instead create Portal Roulette as an actual spell. Much better that way.
It should, however, come with a Slow Fall buff for free.
For every 10000 people (that play along with roulette)that don't get the crater since I'll open about 5 ports always starting with ancient, there's always about 10 that do.
Of those 10, there's always 1 person who is like "WTF why am I dead?!"
That one person makes it worth it. Always.
But then I'll go to the crater and rez and give them a Vale port or wherever they wanna go.
I can definitely see how this would be annoying, but I think a glyph to give you a portal to random would be pretty cool. Honestly you have to look at it from a point of more than just whether you think it is harmless, it can be annoying. If everytime I summoned someone it had a random chance to send them somewhere completely different, that wouldn't be very fun for someone not really in the mood for joking and had no forewarning.
Really guys? You've only just noticed that Blizzard makes up bullshit excuses for why they remove/change abilities? "Heart Strike doesn't fill any role in the kit and isn't fun. But Devastate, which does the exact same thing is totally cool and we love it!"

Personal story -- Not so long ago, I was in a pretty decent, semi-serious raiding guild and I was calling Heroic Four Kings. It was our first night in there and, well, we WIPED HORRIBLY. REPEATEDLY. ROUGHLY. lol Tempers flared, people started getting bitchy, play suffered and eventually I just called it. At that point, people needed to step back a bit and take a break to come back fresh the next night. I asked our mage to put down a portal to Shrine and, without thinking to check, clicked it as soon as he did. I just wanted AWAY from that boss. I got ported to Dalaran Crater. Now--mind you--I'm a paladin. I have a bubble. But I was so surprised and shocked that I was not, in fact, in the Shrine, but was suddenly plummeting to the ground from WAY UP in the air, that I failed to remember this simple truth. Now, admittedly, when I went splat, my anger initially skyrocketed. I EXPLODED in vent. I RAGED at the bad manners of it all. Etc. Meanwhile, my husband and the mage in question--one of our best friends in the world--were laughing their asses off the entire time. That is, until my husband saw how mad I really was ( I think my eyes must have been glowing ala Deathwing ) and he literally dipped from the house, leaving his headphones hanging. Something about it, all of it, made me realize how hilarious my nerd raging was and how seriously perfect our mage's timing was in that EVERYONE had a belly-aching laugh, both at and with me and the mage's antics...not to mention the hubby's quick exit...and we all wound up feeling good about the night in spite of the repeated wipes. WHY? BECAUSE sometimes that much fail is just the best part of this game. It's the moments when someone does something that truly pisses you off for a second, then makes you bust a gut laughing that truly make this game worth playing year after year.
I, A FORMER AND HOPEFULLY FUTURE VICTIM OF MAGE ROULETTE, SINCERELY HOPE THAT WOW DOES NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF TAKING SUCH FUN OUT OF THE GAME.
