Would you like to see reforging again?

Looking at the loot tables up and around, trying to put the blocks together on best offpiece for Foundry as an example.

I would really love to see reforging again, it just feels dull to be half-forced to balance around stats you don't really want to use. Reforging was the perfect way of relief on having bad stats.

yes i would like to see it back since now it would be more of a fun thing.
well mainly if your play a class with balanced stats.
when they removed hit and expertiese they also took out all the anoying things you had to consider when reforging so i think it would be really fun to have it back again.

How is it would be fun? It's exactly as it was before - reforge everything to your best stat but now you wouldn't have to care about "vital" stats like hit and expertise. So... how exactly it "would be fun"?

No, it was a stupid mechanic and it serves no purpose.

You get a piece of gear. You run a simulator. It tells you how to reforge. You go to a reforger. You pay the 20g. You use that item.

That's how it goes, with every single piece of gear you get, for the entire time reforging exists. That isn't fun, it isn't interesting, and it serves virtually no purpose.

    Yes,

The heroic grind to get optimized items was awfull, I'd rather have the choice to reforge than to farm an item for ages.

That is because you're not supposed to do this grind. I'm not sure even getting the optimized stats for all slots is possible before the next tier, I've yet to see a warforged item with a gem slot and perfectly optimized secondary stats. You'll get a non optimized stats with a gem slot which is better than an optimized item with no gem slot, before getting your equipement. Also just imagine you do this grind just to see your stat weight changing after a class balance.
Definitely the equipement is not designed to be grinded that way.

Regarding the topic, no, I don't want reforging back myself.

Maybe. But only if Hit Rating and Expertise stay gone forever.

    I'm leaning towards no though.

Currently playing Borderlands 1 remaster. Amped for Borderlands 3.

No, I see no point. There was no depth in reforging, you took an item and made it slightly better. The current system is better, if you want perfect gear you can farm indefinitely, if you're not too picky, you can gear quickly.

So spending 30 seconds and 30 gold on reforging is better than running the same heroics over and over again without even a guaranteed result? What you've been smoking?!

Obviously. Requiring effort to improve is part of the game. If you want perfect gear, you have to play a ton, how is that surprising? Otherwise, why have reforging at all, just make all bosses drop BiS on every attempt.

RNG is not effort, RNG is just a tool to make it longer. If I can beat this heroic, why the hell should I beat it 10 times to get the loot that is actually better? Makes no sense.

No, they should not all drop personally tailored BiS pieces. They should keep dropping static stuff from static loot tables, as it always been before, with our ability to reforge it.

It's effort because it takes time to do. 99% of everything you do in wow is simply time = result. Doing dailies. Farming reputation. Playing dungeons. It makes perfect sense that someone who spends 10 times as much time as I do in HCs get better gear than I do, because they put in more time. Your argument makes no sense, you still have to run HCs several times to get the loot you want from static tables, and it's obvious Blizzard wants us to run HCs more than once.

I understand why people want reforging back, better stats.

But I also understand why it's bad for the game. As it inceases the efficiency of everyone, it also forces the developpers to tune the content up (more damage, health on bosses). Besides, it got down to pushing a button on an add-on with premade weights that does everything.

Yes, having reforge would make us better, but the content would also be harder to compensate. It's just a gold sink that makes you weaker if you don't do it properly.

I'm glad reforge is gone - or rather, replaced with something less bothersome.
Reforge existed to deal with an itemization problem that doesn't really exist anymore.
It didn't require skill either - merely mathematics / the push of a button. It didn't make you a better player.

You got a good point here. From blizz prospective, it's either a "gold sink that makes players weaker if they don't do it properly" (reforging in game), or a "time sink that keeps players subbed and paying" (the way it's done now).

    An obvious choice.
