[Video] How to Dotweave with Clarity of Power

Hi, I made a short video with how I dotweave with CoP because I see so many people ask how you do it. Hope it will help you!

Is it always better to interrupt an Insanity with Mind Blast? I currently let 2 full Insanitys go before I do another mind blast, wondering if this method is better.

I suppose it would depend on whether 1 insanity tick does more damage than MB. Which, I don't think it does.

Yep, mind blast is your number one priority. the only time you'd give up a mind blast in favor of something else is if you're capped on orbs.

Also, slightly off topic but that UI looks incredibly good. Is it all custom made?

I'm not 100% sure but I think Mind Blast is better to use as soon as possible.

Thanks! Yes and no. It's an old UI which I got from Kaitain. Most of it is custom made except the flashy orbs which are WeakAuras. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hdQhYWDq3w. The link to the WeakAuras should be in the description.

Which should never ever happen when playing CoP properly. Maybe with AS if you're not tracking spirits.

    Great vid btw Ariadne, thx!

Pretty cool although i honestly was hoping and expecting some kind of explanation of what you are doing rather then just a minute of muted video.
Combine this while great looking but confusing UI, it felt more confusing then plain text.
Sorry if this comes over so negative.

Hi! I'm sorry to hear that. I think my intent with this video was to complement the written text out there on various forums. Like for example a person reads a guide and they're confused about how the rotation in the guide works in-game then they watch this video and it'll become more clear. That was my goal at least.

As for my UI, I think it's quite straightforward to be honest. You have everything in one spot. What about it did you find confusing? You see the Mind Blast cooldown in the middle, dots to the right, buffs to the left and cast bar under everything. If you just look at my cast bar and ignore everything else it will show you every cast I make (even instant casts) and you can just copy that.

I thought it was a good vid. Easy to understand if you have read about Dotweaving.
I definitely remember the UI. I started watching your vids back in DS when you were in The Machine.

Your Gnosis config is ... perfect
How did You do that it's shows global cooldown as MB or SW: P casts ?
Can you please paste it's config - gnosis have an option to import/export strings.

It was fine, only thing I'd add is DoTweaving in lust phases.

    Hello Ariadne,
thanks for the video, very educational

One quick OT question regarding your UI - how do ypu setup gnosis to show mind blast and SW: P on GCD timer?

Edit: I have not noticed there was somebody asking the same question already.
Edit 2: Nevermind, I have already found the answer using the interwebz
    1. clone your castbar, set unit to "GCD Indicator"
    2. go to "Hide castbar" tab, enable whitelisting
    3. add spells that trigger the gcd (and which you want to see), one spell per line

The best way to do it is following:
    1. clone your castbar (using the copy castbar option); set bartype to "Multi-Spell Timer"
    2. go to "Hide castbar" tab, enter following timer configuration:

gcd hidden="exact name of the original castbar" : any

This will always show either casts/channels or your global cooldown, but never both at the same time (and always prioritizing casts/channels due to the hidden="castbar name" option). To get a similar result to Ariadne's solution, you also have to invert the bar direction.

I usually only clip the insanity after 2nd dp.
Not sure if it's worth to clip the insanity in first dp.

    Might be wrong.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Are you saying you let Mind Blast be off cooldown for like 2 full Insanity channels?

That is an excellent way to do it! Much better than what I had because sometimes Mind Spike casts are instant due to SoD and sometimes they aren't. Furthermore, if you cancel a cast you can see the inverted GCD cast bar to see for how long you're locked out.

Nice vid the only thing i`m not understanding and it seems nobody noticed but is your MB not an instant cast with CoP active?
or the ui might just be confusing me.

Maybe it was RNG but i did more on Butcher by letting the Insanity tick fully instead of interrupting it for MB

When the "cast bar" moves from right to left, it's just a global cooldown indicator. Basically there should ALWAYS be a bar of some sort moving in that spot, either because of a cast (left to right) or a global cooldown triggered by instant casts (right to left).
