NCSoft's 1st Qtr Earnings: Growth for Guild Wars 2

NCsoft published the earnings report for 1Q 15. The announcement of HoT and the frequent sales created more interest in the game. Therefore we see a slight increase in the sales for the first quarter.

• GW2 sales: 20 bln kr Won after 19,3 bln in 4Q 14
• Sharp declines in sales for L1 and Wildstar
• Higher sales for B&S fueled by B&S Taiwan

Conference Call:

• GW2 sales are classified as solid and strong
• Progression of expansion development goes on smoothly
• They mentioned the currently running invitations for beta tests
• They have strong expectations for HoT
• Global market of games tends toward free-to-play

I'm rather sad to see Wildstar so low. I liked a lot of elements of that game, just not enough for a monthly sub. I hope it can turn it around.

Good to see GW2 maintain a healthy population in a content drought time. When the expansion hits, I imagine it will have a huge spike.
