Does Mythic HFC require a Heroic Archimonde kill?

My friend is saying that Highmaul BRF and HFC do not require a heroic kill but AFAIK...they always have,...who is right?

you don't need to kill the end boss on heroic to do mythic. the first few mythic bosses tend to be easier than the last heroic boss anyways.
