Waiting for 600 seconds and counting.
How many players are still left really ? 68 ?
I didn't play this thing for a few months but wanted to just hop in and out.
Waiting for 10 minutes or more is not exactly my idea of fun.

Longest I have ever waited for 5 min and that was in the early ams. I think you are highly exaggerating
Usually it's only a 60-90 second queue for me, which is shorter than Dota honestly which usually has like a 2-3 minute queue.
Sometimes it's longer or shorter depending on if I'm queuing with a friend.
Although I'm laughing at the attempt to make this into a "THIS GAME IS DEAD" thread

Depends on what hero you are playing. Some roles or specific heroes have much longer queues than others. Play an unpopular hero to get better times. But if you are playing a hero like Kael'thas? Be ready for a long wait.
Maybe his mmr is that bad that the game cant find other 9 ppl with mmr that low to place him with.

Because you're not a stranger around the forums I guess Ben.
Also, my queue times are usually fine. But then again, I tend to go with Auto Select lately in QM because of horrible match making if I sign with specific heroes.
Example: Signing up on Uther -> get placed in double/triple support or no tank match. Signing up on Johanna -> Get placed in 0 support or 0 assassins group. Signing as Jaina/Zagara/specialist -> No warrior groups.
If you have a high MMR, it struggles to find teammates and opponents within the same range, but will keep trying until 6+ minutes (or 360 seconds), after which the criteria keeps getting lower and lower.
600 seconds sounds like you probably bugged, unless you were playing at 6-7AM or something. Yeah, sometimes it bugs out... I've had 500+ sec queues that I've cancelled then re-queued to get an almost instant game.

You are a joke BenBos. 10 minute queues are hardly the norm in this game. At most I get around 2 minute queue times, but that doesn't happen often. The game is hardly becoming much less populated, so stop kidding yourself.

Just waited 180 seconds to find a game, not broken, just be patient.
6½-7 minutes will also be the absolute maximum time you have to wait unless there literally aren't enough people online in your region. At 6 minutes is where the matchmaker just throws away all pretenses and throws random people together in even more random fashion than before.
It depends largely on the role you picked and your MMR.
Most people play assassins, and the game generally will try and give you a 'balanced' composition. Personally it would be better in quick play if they just gave you a minute or two to pick and discuss among your team, instead of picking blindly and giving you a 'random' composition. If for example the only heroes that you have access to are the rotational ones, you're queue is probably going to be a bit longer if you pick one of the assassins from the lists, especially the more popular ones.
If your MMR is high it takes a bit longer as well, it might also take longer if you haven't played a lot because it's still trying to figure out your MMR.
It's still quicker play than what I experienced when I play DoTA. Random match make queue (non-ranked) usually takes 3-5 minutes on average in DoTA from my experience, then you add a couple minutes loading and an additional couple minutes in picking heroes. Personally I prefer being able to discuss/talk about what heroes everybody is picking prior to match start (even in random match making) and would take the extra couple minutes every time over the convenience of being able to jump right into a game in several minutes.
Kinda hard to compare though. I put up with the prep in DoTA because the game length is on average at least 2.5x the length of an average HoTS game, and the game experience would be worse in DoTA under the same random match making criteria in HoTS.
Nova and now monk usually bring queues up
QM queues have been totally out of hand since they changed the Matchmaking algorithms a couple of patches ago, mine shot up from a 2-3 mins to 6+ regularly regardless of who I try playing. My advice would be to grab a book to read while you wait, just don't forget to check back every minute or so, otherwise you'll miss the start of the game.
You guys have no idea how long the monk que was on the ptr. My games lasted longer than my que time.

40-70 sec queue in QM on 11 CET with a Jaina.
Seems fine to me.
