Would you hire a tattooed person?

So I know in a lot of places or cultures maybe tattooing isn't accepted etc it's different everywhere. Personally I like tattoos and wouldn't hold someone back from working at my company just because they have ink (unless of course it's like nazi tatts all over their body etc like obvious they're in a gang or some shit). I know some jobs it might not be professional like a desk job or for example a lawyer.

What's your take on trying to find work when being inked? Would you deny someone a job if you owned a company because of some ink in their skin?

If they can hide the tattoo, yeah. I wouldn't hire someone who's got their face tattooed.

Yes, if they were suitable for the job in every other respect.

If someone worries about tattoos then they need to learn to mind their own business.

Depends on the tattoo and where it was.

i would but i would not send him as a representive to clients. I work at a consulting firm and would definately not send him to most of my clients especially if they're visible tattoos :-)

Depends on the tattoo design/message, location of tattoo and job itself.

I personally don't mind tattoos for as long as they aren't vulgar to me.

"Hi, I'm here for the job interview".

Normally I wouldn't have a problem with that unless it impedes with customer interaction, so people with overly visible tattoos would be a no-no in that situation.

It would really depend on what kind of tattoos, and where.

People with visible tattoos do not get taken seriously in my business.

Unless you're a celebrity/brand and need to do it for the media attention, it's pretty much just a sign of narcissism and frivolity.

Would depend on the job, tattoo type and location, as others have said.

Don't really mind what a tattoo is as long as it's hidden. Don't really mind 'safe' tattoos if they are a bit visible if it's a job where they aren't meant to make a good impression on clients/partners during the course of their day. Lawyers, PR offices, human resources etc I wouldn't want to have visible tattoos. Manual labor, desk jobs, phone jockeys, don't see much of an issue.

But then one of the two tattoos I'd ever be anywhere near likely to get is the Triforce on the back of my hand so.

Sure! If we worked in a tattoo/piercing shop, otherwise no.

I don't like tatoos, most of them are ugly and I see no reason for a permanent painting on your body. So as a human I can hardly deny that this would weigh in if I had to choose between someone with or without a tatoo and the same qualifications.

On the other hand the look of someone does not matter at all in my profession, so if he is the better person for the job he will get it.
(obviously only talking about visible tatoos, I couldn't care less what you have out of sight).

as long as they arent obvious and distracting

like a penis on the face or something

on second thought...id probably hire that person just to laugh at them

My Tattoos are only visible if I want them visible. Meaning someone not wanting to hire people with Tattoos would not know regardless.

People with tattoos on their faces though... Uggh.

It really all depends on where the tattoes are and what job, they are going to apply for. If it is tattoes that are hidden under normal clothes, like t-shirt and pants, then i would have no problem with that. It might even be a plus, since the person seems a bit more "cool" If the person on the other hand has very visuelble tatttoes, then i would proberly try not to hire them, if the job required contact with clients or customers, espeically if it was face tats or finger tats. Its not because i dont think that tats are awesome, its just i know some people might not like them, and in the world of jobs, you must always try to make the best experience for the client/customer.

If the job, on the other hand, did not require any human contact ( like IT support, or administration on web-sites) i would not really give a damm about looks, but more abilities.

If I was hiring someone that had no contact with customers I would hire someone with "ASS" tattooed on their face as long as their skills/experience matched what I needed and they weren't jerks.

If they dealt with customers I wouldn't have a problem with tattoos that could be hidden but visible tattoos might be an issue depending on what it is, what business I was in and what level of contact they had with customers.
