as example, heroes of the storm, never even got close to #1 on twitch and it shows, it never got it.
Overwatch, is already on the #1 spot, in less then day time.

If it beats a game as LoL, then you know it is gonna be a massive success.

Maybe even bigger then LoL when its fully released.

They were talking about this over in reddit too.

Just the other day Star Wars:Battle Front was number 1 on twitch almost 12 hours before the beta was even released.

Same trend is happening with Overwatch. Seems to be any new major title, especially with an announced beta. Let's hope it stays number 1, but only time will tell if it even stays in the top 5.

People were hyped for WoD early days, now look at all the threads complaining that it was a failure in one way or another. It's way to early to jump to conclusions like this :/. Give it time for the initial 'ooh new game' hype to wear off THEN you can start talking about it being #1 game evar.

I mean cmon even hots the biggest fail so far got 70k or something like this very first beta day.

Depends on the definition of fail. HoTs has room to grow in the US with an expanding player base, while games like Dota2 are losing players. 3rd and rising in an over crowded market isn't half-bad.

In some areas overseas Dota 2 never really took off, like Japan, and this is where HoTs has taken the opportunity to slip into second place in some of those countries. So world-wide, 2nd or 3rd is probably considered a success on a metric by most companies. I don't know that their aim was ever to overtake or surpass LoL in popularity.

I can see this game staying in the top easily. Games rarely also debut on twitch at #1.
There is a couple of reasons its top today though.
1) its a very hyped game with limited access
2) Lirik is streaming it, he has close to 70k viewers himself. He wont be streaming it all the time.

Ill have to say though, it is one of the funnest games Ive played in awhile. Its a nice mix of FPS with some moba elements.
