The makers of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups have no trouble persuading people to stuff their faces with chocolate-covered treats in circular form (or as pieces). Why bother, then, shaping those delicious morsels into Christmas trees -- at the risk of failing miserably?

All food is technically acidic before it's digested, (at which point 'good' food can become alkaline) but chocolate (and anything else sugary) especially is acidic, and contributes to acid reflux.

That makes so much sense. I get acid reflux as I used to have a super upper gastro intestinal acid reflux disease when I was younger, and I vomited a lot. I always thought it was acidic/spicy food but noticed sometimes after eating something like a reeses I would feel the same as if I ate something acidic lol.

But ontopic, I used to work at a gas station and we had these, they were a lot more tree shaped from what I remember, but were never perfect.

I believe chocolate tends to loosen the muscle that keeps the contents of your stomach in your stomach thus letting acid flow back up into your esophagus.
