Injured veteran have had enough of people expecting racism from him.

Getting frustrated by some people expecting racism from me, because I got blown up. Here it is:
Yes. A Muslim man blew me up, and I lost my leg.
A Muslim man also lost his arm that day wearing a British Uniform.
A Muslim medic was in the helicopter that took me from the field
A Muslim surgeon performed the surgery that saved my life
A Muslim Nurse was part of the team that helped me when I returned to the UK
A Muslim Healthcare Assistant was part of the team that sorted out my day to day needs in rehabilitation when I was learning to walk
A Muslim taxi driver gave me a free ride the first time I went for a beer with my Dad after I came home.
A Muslim doctor offered my Dad comfort and advice in a pub, when he didnt know how to deal with my medicines and side effects.
    Contrary to that,
A white brit spat in my girlfriends face for 'fucking a cripple when you could have me [him]'
A White brit pushed my wheelchair away from a lift so he could use it first.
A White brit screamed at my Dad for parking in a disabled bay when I was in the services coming home
(Although, alot of people helped in my recovery! I dont hate white brits either! hahaha)
Point is, fuck off. I know who I dislike, and I know who I dont. I know who I appreciate, and I know who I dont. If you want to hate an entire race of men and women for the actions of a few dickheads feel free, but don't push your views on me, thinking I am an easy target because one douchebag decided it was my day to die.
Blaming all Muslims for the actions of groups like Daeshe and the Taliban, is like blaming all Christians for the actions of the KKK or Westboro Baptist Church.
Get a grip of your lives, hug your family and get back to work.

    Great response imo!

    Yeah, he makes sense though.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

I have Muslim friends. Actually I have no clue what religion they follow. I just know they are Iraqi.

Know what I'm sick of? People sporting those support the troops merchandise. I'm like, fuck bro. You could have spent that cash on a letter or care package and actually support a troop, but you supported that chain store instead cause your warm and fuzzy > actually supporting troops.

If you are gonna do it actually do it.

And don't get me started on stores who profit from selling dead soldier bracelets.

    Sounds like a total fabrication.

Is there any proof for any part of this?

I could copy this story, change Muslim to Nazi Skinhead and "White Brit" to Justin Beiber fan and I'd get all sorts of likes from people who are just sitting around waiting to be told things that support their confirmation bias.

I don't know if the OP is true or not but politicians like Trump saying we should ban Muslims is very irresponsible. It increases the hate attacks against Muslims in the US, leaving pig's heads on the steps of Mosques, people saying stupid shit to Muslims or people they think are Muslims, and it makes Muslims want to isolate themselves instead of assimilate.

Also when everything you say is reported by every news agency in the world, like Trump's, it has repercussions around the world.

    Very irresponsible.

MFW the linked veteran's post refers to muslims and racism in the same sentence. Christians are not a race, neither are muslims, and the sooner people stop talking about racism the faster it will disappear.

    A human is a human.

He's got the right general idea, but completely off-track as far as actually addressing the real cause of these incidents, and all this vet's post supports is confirmation bias.

Why do people get away with prejudice against pitbulls like "Pitbulls are a dangerous breed!" but suddenly the world loses their collective shit when people apply that same logic to people in the most benign way (categorizing based on general traits for identification).

Nope, it's for real. Just look at his facebook page for the evidence.

Because the idea that an injured soldier might not be a bigot is such a challenging concept?

This is from an article on CNN news; very easy to find. Article is named: "Amputee Soldier's heartfelt Muslim Facebook post goes viral". I posted this here yesterday morning.

Because most likely it will be directed towards the people from a general area like the Middle East, or people with brown color..... makes sense?

Or because not everything said on the internet is true. I remember Brian Williams used to tell riveting tales..

Why does it seem unlikely? While I agree, that there are some of that faith who wouldn't go near bars, there are many others who don't care. I have Muslim friends who socialize with me and others at bars in the U.S.

It's a common English mix-up, xenophobic or ethnocentrism is the best matching phrases he was looking for, but I'm pretty sure you already understood the context. Most people do when they make this argument. They rather use semantics on the use of a particular word in the English language in order to try and down-play the significance of a statement denouncing the hate-filled diatribe of bigots who discriminate based on race, ethnicity or creed.

Saying, (But, that's not racism) is never a free pass to hate-filled discrimination.

Don't you think all these soldiers are guilty of war crimes for invading somebody else's country under the guise of an illegal war?

Before the camps, I regarded the existence of nationality as something that shouldn’t be noticed - nationality did not really exist, only humanity. But in the camps one learns: if you belong to a successful nation you are protected and you survive. If you are part of universal humanity - too bad for you -Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

No it doesn't, that's just like assuming all white people are Christians. People who don't like muslims don't like them because of their faith not because they are brown, anyone who associates anti Religion as racism is ignorant.

No it's spreading ignorance to assume people who are anti muslim are anti muslim because of a race. Pretty sure people who are anti muslim are anti muslim even against white people or any other color who practice the religion. Stop spreading ignorance

So a Canadian comes across the border and is Muslim, but lies and says he's a Christian, and a Syrian refugee, comes to us and claims to be Christian. Which is more likely to be questioned further? You mean to say there would be no racial profiling enacted? Ignorance is pretending that racial profiling doesn't exist.

This soldier said nothing about Muslims of a certain race, you decided to throw that in there to further your argument of denouncing his misuse of one word.

Thats not racial profiling thats country profiling, Canada isn't mostly muslim and Syria isn't mostly Christian, and Canadian isn't a race

Fine someone with a complexion typical of your average, Iraqi, Syrian, Yemen foreigner as opposed to your typical American or Canadian or Britain who is Caucasian in nature. I'ts really not a hard concept. Or is skin color not considered racial profiling either? Most people, have a preconceived notion of dominant race for each country that it is composed almost entirely of.

Just saying (Because its not a race) ONCE AGAIN still does nothing to negate the soldier's argument. That is not a shut-down the argument phrase where you don't have to provide any evidence from there on out.

Not to mention the origination of the word Caucasian (when it was proposed everyone was either Caucasian or Mongolian). I'm pretty sure most races have a cultural and ethnic origination. Latino is descending from a Latin American, which is a group of countries. So now its become ethnic too? What about Hispanic which traces back to the roots of Iberian Descent. Oh wait another region of land. Race is a phrasing to describe someones heritage especially based on cultural views and skin color.

Maybe you enjoy coming up with names on the color wheel to call everyone? What shade would you describe Syrians? In fact what race would you classify your typical Syrian as? Hope you know right off-hand.....
