There's no middle ground to 3v3 anymore and its infuriating

Seriously, pisses me the fuck off. Do enough people give a shit anymore for there to be a neutral ground for slightly above average players? I'm not exactly a chump given my experience of 2400+ in everything, but jesus christ I'm not good enough to contend with Gladiators and Rank 1s every game now. If you're wondering what MMR this is, it's fucking merely 2000 at 1950 range! You wouldn't see such players until 2400 if you were lucky in Cataclysm. I mean, now everyone is either extremely good or your typical BG backpeddling dumbass, the former slowly cropping up when you hit 1700 of all things.

In the state of the game now, how are new people supposed to get into arenas when it's like this? The prospect of facing retards then immediately being hurled into the fray with the best of them is kind of jarring...

Arena has been a joke since WoD started. hopefully it gets better in legion. My advice, stop taking arena seriously since it's warlords last season.

It's probably because the game is less popular now and fewer teams are around. It might be helped if broken brackets were removed or their rewards lessened. See my thread about 2v2 removal here.

I would say it's the factor that there are a lot less players these days.

... or just hardly anyone at or below your level plays at a given moment so that there are literally no other enemies to put you up against. Mainly because everyone else has already given up due to the very same issue. Sucks, sure, but that is essentially what comes from Blizzard's "give them something to play no matter the cost" philosophy.

I believe it switches you to alliance if there are no players around. I've been seeing it in Battelgrounds. In rated ones it often puts me Alliance side.

Sadly this is only in RBGs. That and the removal of racials could finally get us reeeeeaaaaly shorten wait times and no faction inbalance. But this will never happen.

Someone in another thread made a good point about this. They basically pointed out that all of the bad players play Ashran to get their conquest points instead of playing arena. And that's why the mmr ratings are so deflated.

To be honest many players stopped doing arenas seriously with the removal of everything that matters in 2s, i believe there is a multitude of people that play pvp and have that one friend with whom they were doing 2s in bc half of Woltk because if they were good they had a chance on Duelist/Gladiator (or played the right classes).

Atleast i know that i never had a 3rd guy to do 3s seriously but had an amazing friend to do 2s with.

2s was allways the more active bracket, 3s and 5s were never that popular until blizzard decided to strip 2s of rewards.

The barren wasteland that is 3s and 5s is showing now that hardly anyone does more than cap through ashran and not log in the rest of the week.

What I see is breaking 2k is really now but after 2k it gets a bit better. In 2s around 1900 all you will face is disc/ surv and in 3s mostly turbo and WLS. Playing the right comp is also a big factor now. No matter how skilled or well communicated your team is, you wont progress much without a good comp.

I never played arenas until Wotlk and then stopped pvping altogether and only just started up again in WoD because my friends kept nagging me. I started to get into it but found that wall the OP speaks of. So we had to resort to going to ashran and farming bgs for some conquest. But that's not how you get better. I actually started to like arenas (whereas I hated it in the past). But what's the point if you aren't going to get better and have some really tight fun games where you feel a sense of accomplishment and challenge. it's just really bad imo.

This, did you compare the numbers of people who plaid wod S1, S2 and S3? each season less and less people who play arena seriously. All my mates just stopped arena in general until Legion is out, only the hard core pvpers= aka multi glads who have several active alts are keep on pushing rating, hence you face their alt glad teams.

MMR and CR are not the same thing. If you are "fighting R1s" you are most likely fighting someone selling carries, because you are not going to be fighting any legitimate R1 at 2k MMR unless they are teaming with brand new (probably previously banned teammates) and that will only be temporary as they build their team MMR back to where they previously stood.

dosn't really matter how early we are in the season, we haven't had a MMR reset since season 9 IRC so the rank ones get to 3k rating with a win ratio of 55% within the first 2-3 days of a season. (yep go calculate WR of top 100, some people like Melby actually had more looses than wins last i checked at 2600 rating)

thats like passing your exams with 53% correct answers, but you get better grades than little timmy with 87% correct, because you did good in kindergarden and your grades MMR wasnt reset. =)

So imo MMR reset or GTFO blizz.
