Have feminism served its purpose in the west?

Feminists love to proclaim to the world how important they are, how important the feminist fight is. It's however starting to show more and more that it's not about the women.

If feminists actually cared about women then they would be viewing all attacks on women as equally vile and they would put all their power to fight oppressive cultures. They would be strongly against immigration from strongly patriarchal societies where the woman is oppressed.

Funnily enough, they are not putting focus towards the more problematic groups. The focus is directed towards the white western man instead.
"Men affects the environment more than women"(Read: Men should restrict how they live their lives.)
"Men are not helping in the household"(Read: The white man should be taking on the role of a housewife, otherwise he's a horrible misogynist.)
"What do you mean immigrants rape? White men stare at me everywhere!"(Means: Imagined things that the white man is subjecting the woman to negates all the bad that immigrants subject women to in their daily lives.)

This is a fun part of an article published in Metro:
According to a present study with 42,000 women in EU participating, 55% claim they have been victims of sexual harassment after the age of 15. Sweden tops the statistics with 81%. An active feminist debate means more awareness around the issues. Probably is the victimization in other countries more taboo to talk about and therefore underreported.
Or women in Sweden are subjected to such a higher rate of sexual harassment because we have imported hundreds of thousands of men from countries where women are valued far below the man.

Nationalism and closed borders are not the answer. We agree with the german politicians that stresses that the attacks should not be exploited for racist purposes. The last thing victims of violence needs is to be used by people who rarely engage themselves in the fight against violence otherwise. Not seldomly it's often the self-proclaimed defenders of the nation that stand for the biggest threat against women.
Every time problems with immigration, environment, education, school, jobs, crime, whatever is to be discussed feminists use the same lines of arguments every time: "But the white man murders as well! Look at Breivik!, "Look at Hagamannen(A swedish serial rapist)!", "The problem is not that country x or y has a too high production of environmentally dangerous products, the problem is that the white man eats too much meat!".

When will feminists, and people overall, admit that the "Fight for womens rights" in reality is actually a fight against the white men, that they don't care about women if you can't blame the white man for the problems?

Feminists in the United States would rather decry petty shit like "cat calling" which is actually pretty uncommon unless you are hanging out in negative environments to begin with (like outside a night club) than real issues in the world like Islamic countries.

I'd say it's at 95%. There are some minor issues that females have to deal with that isn't fair.

However, it's clear they are stirring up shit wherever they can to make it seem like women are considered property. It's a sign that they have mostly succeeded here. Their efforts would be better spent lobbying politicians to spread feminism to places that need it bad.

Considering men have less rights and privileges than women, it's served its role a while ago.

There are many different subsets of Feminism. It's a broad social philosophy.

No such thing such as, "If Feminists cared about so & so!" is applicable. Not all people hold the same views, values or share the same agenda.

Feminism in macro is nothing more than the view of social and political history via a non-male point of view. Within that framework there exists many varied opinions and such.

So to start any argument with the assumption that all Feminist views are equally concerned with the same issues is both inaccurate and ignorant to the actual matter of Feminism in the 21st century.

But not all men rape though?

Feminism is a hate movement full of angry losers who failed in some way and so hate men and blame a conspiracy theory of patriarchy for it.

"It's time to consider a curfew for men"
<-- literally written today, you don't have to look far for the feminist hate speech because it's entirely acceptable in society

""What real impact would a curfew have?" you might ask. Certainly it would send the message that we are taking men's behaviour seriously and that it is no longer acceptable. Certainly it would allow women to move about more safely at night -- on campus, in their homes, at bars, at the bus stop. Certainly it would name the problem. It would say, unequivocally, "The problem is you, men. You are the problem, and therefore, it is you who must be stopped."

Think of it as a mass grounding for men. After a designated period of time, we'll allow them back on the streets after dark to see how it goes. If the sexual assaults and harassment continue, well, it's back to the curfew."

Reminds me of the idea of prohibition. This is how stupid some feminists are.

Okay. Male curfew. So no male cops after dark?
You think actual rapists and thugs will abide by that curfew?
You gonna stop every male out after dark trying to pick up his daughter?

This shit is stupid. How are other feminists allowing these dumb asses to speak in public?

As long as people need reminding that women and men should be treated equally and have the same rights and expectations in life, feminism will be necessary. It doesn't exactly take long even just perusing these forums that that still is the case.

The biggest threat to feminism isn't the ridiculous extremists in our ranks, but those pretending it's no longer needed.

Free speech is free. You're not supposed to like it, but you are supposed to defend it to your death.

You don't need feminism for any of that.

You know why people think it's not needed? Cause the major players in your ranks are raving sexist idiots. They will be your downfall.

So keep letting them say dunb shit. People are already starting to not take feminism serious and are even beginning to speak against it.

And you say your lunatics are not a threat? Okay.

I will have to put my foot down to this thread and take the same stance as Endus.

If Western societies weren't so oppressive towards the Middle East, the Middle East wouldn't have so much stress and pressure placed upon them.

This in turn causes all kinds of weird things to happen and women in the Middle East get the brunt end of it.

It is indeed the fault of the Western white Male that women in the Middle East are oppressed, because the Middle East as a whole are oppressed by the West.

The solution is to separate all the Middle East women from their single straight men, allow them into the great nation of Canada and allow the Middle East men to form their own hierarchy's and Governments to sort their country's out.

It's not major players, it's the vocal loon fringe that everyone jumps on, especially anti-feminists, precisely because they're a vocal loon fringe.

Feminists are a joke. If you listen clearly you can hear what they are actually saying:

    "We want equal treatment!"
    "But not in maturnity leave"
"not when we go out on dates"
"not when we get free stuff"
    "not in gym class"
"We only want equal rights which benefit us!"
    "we know we are hypocrites"

I wonder why I wouldn't associate that with equality?
    Exactly.

And the 1000 strong rape case from refugees was caused because of the oppression stemming from the Western White male.

That's not Feminism. Go ahead and link the dictionary definition though.
    Here's that Webster's definition:

    Full Definition of feminism

    1
: the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes

    Which is what I said.

My girlfriend was walking back from work, and some construction workers cat called her. It's a nice part of town, nothing rough about it. She honestly felt quite humiliated by it all. Being seen that way, as something to just shout and whistle at is actually quite a degrading thing.

Sure, there are far greater issues out there, and there are some seriously fucked up stupid things FemiNazi's claim, but remember, screaming and crying about Womens Rights in Islamic countries serves absolutely no purpose. It's going to do nothing, no matter how much of a shit storm you create. However, in your own country, especially in the West, social pressure is a real thing.

When you say "full definition", you should have linked the number two definition as well:

    "2
: organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests"
Now you can call feminism with the number one definition, but in reality it's only about the number two definition.

Not calling you a liar, but they still do that? The only place I have ever seen it is in old cartoons. Usually the guys are busy actually working. And they usually don't even work anywhere near where you can hear them. So this is probably super rare if anything.

And with the political clout collective feminism has you are silly to think they can't do anything. Grilling congressmen and the president would result in them taking political action against bad treatment of women in other countries. I mean shit man, we had two feminist loons speaking at the UN! And you say they can't do anything outside the west?

Come on man. That's a lie. They don't do anything because they either don't care or they fear being called racist or islamaphobic more than they care about those women.

I have done more to help women in the Middle East than all of feminism to date.
