    Too much!

I just blew $267 on anime preorders. I rarely buy anime anymore but am a sucker for 80/90s Bluray remasters.

$44 on Steam last night (Touhou Luna Nights, Rise of the Boob Raider, and Secret of Mana).

Switch preorders alone are at roughly......$430 so far

I currently keep subs to FFXIV (5+ years now). Not sure if I'll resub to WoW this year or not as playing two MMOs is a bit much anymore.

Oops, left out Resident Evil 2 remake. That's an extra $47

So $834 this year so far, counting preorders I made.

It's hard to count up accurately. There's wow subscription, I have it running most of the time, so that's about 155 euro a year. I occasionally buy humble bundles, so that's around 40 a year. I buy most of the new games I'm interested in, but to be fair, there's been a stream of crap for the last few years, so I haven't spent that much. Actually, I just looked at my purchase history and I've managed to rack up around 900 euro just on steam and gog in 2018. So I guess a lot. I blame impulse buys for expensive crap like ark and civ, things that I barely play.

None of it on lootboxes and maybe 5 total on micro transactions. Gotta keep them micro, you know.

    Steam: 0 Euro (2018) and 0 Euro (2019)
    Battle.net: about 115 Euro (2018) and 30 Euro (2019)
    Other: about 15 Euro (2018) and 0 Euro (2019)

    Total: 130 Euro (2018) and 30 Euro (2019)
    ---

Full game purchases: about 60 Euro (2018) and 0 Euro (2019)
WoW subscription*: about 70 Euro (2018) and 20 Euro (2019)
    Microtransactions: 0 Euro (2018) and 10 Euro (2019)
    Lootboxes: 0 Euro

*I buy WoW sub in 2-month game-time cards that I've managed to find for about 20 Euro a piece and I sometimes use the regular battle.net subscription, so that's why my total sub cost may seem weird.

i pay my ffxiv sub. lootboxes and other 'minibuys' are scams for rubes.

    Last year; strictly on "Gaming"
Blizzard: 154,88€ (BFA, 8x sub, 3x Hearthstone Arena runs)
Steam: 106,26€ (Warframe Platinum, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, Deep Rock Galactic, Monster Hunter: World)

    Gaming-related subscriptions:
    Twitch subs: ~120€
    Raidbots Premium: ~120€
    Discord Nitro: ~60€

    Non-gaming-related subscriptions(for reference): ~170€

I voted on the 300-400€ bracket.

I spend about 500 euros on subs and sale games year but that's not really honest because I usually let the subs drop if I'm not playing, which like now, I'm currently not.

I'd guess it's closer to 400 or less.

I stay subbed to one MMO at a time: Star Trek Online (dropped my sub when they went F2P), WoW, or FFXIV.

As for lootboxes, I bought a few for Overwatch when it first launched, and a few the Goblins vs Gnomes packs, and that was four years ago. So it's just the subscription fee now.

I would say, besides WoW subscription which I still pay in cash, I buy a game at launch at most 4x/year and a used game about twice as often. I buy games with longevity and run them into the ground. And I've been much more cautious with game purchases since Aliens: Colonial Marines -- I wasn't burned, but I am willing to learn the lesson from other people's misfortune.

I spend about CAD 600$ a year on games probably across all platforms.

Well WoW is free for me, I did get a supporter pack for POE because its been some time since I dropped money on a game I spend countless hours on. Outside of that it entirely varies, I have a steam library that I can always come back to and there are F2P games like MTGA and Apex that have my deep attention.

The $60 game purchases are few and far in between, if a trusted game comes out I tend to "risk" the 1st day buy. An example would be CP2077.

I usually only buy regular retail type-games that don't have in-game micro-transactions or play F2P games where I can grind for whatever I want without paying actual money.

I have never spent a cent on gamble boxes in any of the games I've played that have had them.

    In 2018?

    Steam - 90€

    Battle Net - 84€

To be honest 2018 was the year I spent less in games in a long time.
