Well, it appears that women may be one step closer to winning the right to be killed same as men.

Not really sure why they are pushing for this equal right. But sure...

Apparently safety means nothing to progressives. It's actually doing women (and the men they serve with) a disservice.
But hey, equality right! Ignore the logistics nightmare and reduced standards for women.
Sounds good, since a draft is very rare and unlikely if we are sending people off to war to die, then yeah why not, women can fight and die too, all the more reason to find better solutions to conflicts.

If they want to be treated equal then they should be treated equal in all aspects and not just the ones that they want to. They should be signing up for selective service. I'm fine with this.

Sounds good to me.
Women have been fighting for home and country in Israel for generations now, hasn't been a problem for them to my knowledge. I would hope that we would only use a draft in dire circumstances (I know, idealistic much?), and in such a situation, drafting women would be fine IMO.
What a stupid idea. A draft is only necessary when you need to throw more bodies at combat. Whether women who are self-selected and want to perform these roles can do it is one question, but looking to the general populace for it is just stupid.
I find the draft to be a completely horrible thing, I wish no one had to do it.

I don't really have a huge issue with women that want to be in the service being there. I served in the army two separate times from 88-91 and 93-96. The first time as a 54B20 (Heavy Decontamination specialist) and the second time as a 11M10(54B20) (Mechanized Infantryman and NBC NCO). In both cases I ran into women that were in harm's way as much as I was. In both cases, they could have been killed same as me.
My issue is forcing women into rolls that they aren't going to be suited for. The combat rolls are fine for women that are built to do those rolls. They are not fine for the average woman. A draft, would not discriminate.

A draft would occur, if we ever ran into a prolonged war in which caused recruitment to fall off to sub-standard levels. It would require an enemy that caused sufficient causalities to require replacement of people. At this point, that would be Iran, North Korea, China or Russia. So, as long as we don't instigate people too much. We are fine.
And for anyone wondering the chances of going to combat in the military. This statistic may help:
From 1901 to 2000: The US military was in war-zones 56 years out of 100.
From 2001 to 2016: The US military was in war-zones 16 years out of 16.

If having a draft encourages people who wouldn't otherwise be at risk in a war to go protest it, then that makes it a good thing. Which is why I think everyone who's genuinely anti-war should be in favour of the draft. And, hey, if conscripting women gets them to get off their asses to protest being sent to their deaths then that's even better than just mobilizing the guys.
"Quack, quack, Mr. Bond."
A LOT of the army is administrative/logistics and other non-combat roles. If there's ever a war, draft for women = more men free for combat roles.
Good idea, imo.
