Gladiator Stance is baseline in Legion.

Why do people whine about the "removal" of Gladiator Stance? It's not being removed, it's actually going to be baseline.

What does GS do in WoD? It increases prot warriors' damage so they can compete with dps-ers.

"Damage output by tanks will be increased, and their scaling with gear will be improved. This is being done so that tanks can stay in-line with damage dealers as a group gears up together."

Read that? Tank damage will be similar to that of dps specs. Add Glyph of the Subtle Defender and viola! Gladiator Stance. Happy now?

Tanks should be able to handle solo content quite effectively. They need to do less damage than dedicated damage dealers, but that difference can be moderate. It doesn’t have to be a massive difference.
Gladiators in WOD have typically been doing the same level of dps as actual dps specs, able to post very impressive dps numbers without gimmick or specific situations (like Prot Paladin class trinket on AOE)... Gladiator was a dedicated damage dealer, and so this post is not relevant about Gladiator stance, even setting aside the differences in playstyle and gearing between tanking Warriors and Gladiator Warriors.
Probably running on a Pentium 4

Well it sort of is, because if tanks do the same damage as DPS then subtle defender would allow for someone to essentially DPS as a prot warrior, and gear themselves to correspond to their role.

The thing to be asked is whether or not tanks will do comparable DPS to DPS classes.

This is not true and you're misunderstanding the context of the statement.

It does not mean "so that tanks can equal damage dealers", it means "so that tanks are not out-scaled by damage dealers". In other words, the stament means they are trying to avoid the issue of a tank starting out at 3/4 the damage of a DPS spec, but gear scaling increasing DPS specs damage faster than the Tank, thereby widening that gap to 1/2.

Second, damage aside what defined Gladiator Stance was the rotation. In Legion, Shield Charge is removed and Heroic Strike changed, both of which significantly alter the playstyle. Even if Tanks did as much damage as DPS (they wont), Gladiator as a play style is gone.

Exactly this. To expound on your playstyle comment: Glad is almost defined now by how fast it plays, it's the highest APM spec by a long shot. As it's shaping up in Legion, Protection is looking slower and slower. OP has also conveniently ignored the change to rage gain. Since much of the gain now comes from damage taken, you're useless as the bastardized Glad spec OP mentions as you're getting marginal at best rage to what? Occationally Shield slam and revenge on CD since you're not getting procs? Don't worry, you can use the "new and improved" heroic strike, which takes up a global and doesn't do any damage by itself.

OP, why so salty at people that want to keep glad stance as is?

OP, why so ignorant about the class at large, and the difference of WoD Gladiator vs Prot Warrior Alpha?

Gladiator Stance is not a tanking stance.

The OP seems to have had his facts mistaken. Closing this thread as it won't lead to anything constructive.
