'Jurassic Park' ride going extinct at Universal Studios Hollywood as new ‘World’ beckons
We’re LIVE celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Jurassic Park with a special filmmaker panel hosted by Jurassic World’s Colin Trevorrow! #JurassicPark25
"Jurassic Park - The Ride" at Universal Studios Hollywood is heading the way of the dinosaur: Extinction.

The water thrill ride featuring gigantic animatronic dinosaurs will close its doors for good after 22 years on Sept. 3, the theme park announced Thursday.

It marks the end of one era and the beginning of another.

Excavation will immediately begin for a new thrill ride based on Universal Studio's newest dinosaur franchise — “Jurassic World Ride" opening in 2019.

It's been a great run for "Jurassic Park - The Ride" which began its Hollywood reign in 1996, three years after Steven Spielberg's blockbuster film.

The technologically cutting-edge attraction featured new principles of hydraulic physics, mechanics and robotics from a partnership of scientists, paleontologists and aerospace engineers.

The ride features dinosaurs as big as five stories high — Stegosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Dilophosaurus, Velociraptors and, of course, the T-Rex.

Park operators are counting on fans to give a final farewell in the last days, launching a “Countdown to the Extinction” campaign. This weekend the park will host a Jurassic Park 25th Anniversary Celebration revisiting the original 1993 film that sparked it all.

Details of the "Jurassic World Ride" are being kept under wraps. But a breathless release describes the plans as "epic" featuring
"never-before-seen dinosaurs, enhanced storytelling, lush scenic design, an entirely new color scheme and uncompromised state-of the art technology."
    HOLD ON TO YOUR BUTTS!

The Opening Scene of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Has Big Dinosaurs and Tons of Tension

    Germain Lussier
    4/26/18 12:45pm

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom won’t be in theaters for another two months, but we saw the first few minutes at CinemaCon this week. And right off the bat, director J.A. Bayona shows a penchant for suspense and tension we haven’t seen since the original film.

The footage begins underwater. We see a few lights and realize it’s a small submarine. The sub is moving when two huge doors open in front of it and the sub goes inside. Text tells us we’re back at Isla Nublar, four years after the events of Jurassic World. One of the guys in the sub is tense, but his friend says to relax. “Anything that was in here would be dead by now,” he says. The light seem to confirm that as we see bones on the ground. Then, the sub finds what it wants: the bones of the Indominus rex, dragged to its death by the Mosasaurus at the end of the first film.

A claw extends from the sub and cuts a piece of a tooth from the Indominus and sends it up to the surface with a balloon. As the camera follows the balloon, a crash of lightning reveals a huge shadow floating above. We find out that the sub was able to open the gate to the Mosasaurus paddock because they have a man on the surface, hacking the system. He tells the sub to get out of there because he wants to close the gate. As they turn around, a giant eye opens right next to their sub. The film then cuts to the surface where we see the light of the sub underwater and then, suddenly, it goes out.

A helicopter lands to extract everyone but the hacker is still trying to hail the sub. He doesn’t want to leave his friends. But, as he’s working, the men in the helicopter see something moving in the tree line. They begin screaming to get the hacker’s attention but he can’t hear him. Lightning crashes and among the trees is, who else? The T-rex. Finally, the hacker turns around, sees the T-rex and screams. He starts running but the helicopter is already taking off. The T-rex smashes the device to close the gate as she’s running after the hacker, and then the helicopter drops a ladder for him to climb up. The hacker jumps on the ladder and begins climbing. Winds and rain are blowing, making the T-rex keep missing the ladder. She bites the ladder and the guys in the helicopter are not having it. They scream and yell to cut the ladder off, sacrificing the hacker until, finally, the T-rex bites off the bottom part of the ladder and the hacker is safe to climb up.

Which is, of course, exactly when the now free Mosasaurus jumps out of the water and eats him before he gets in the helicopter.

So, yeah, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom stars off with quite the bang. We’ll see the rest on June 22. Are you excited?
Here's a vid talking about the opening spoiler, doesn't show anything though..shame if somebody hasn't managed to sneaky sneaky film the opening...

Like, a trailer needs to pique interest with maybe one or two plot points.

Not basically show exactly how movie will go.

I mean you can sum up movie like

Good guys get sent to isle
good guys rescue some dinos and blue, get betrayed.
see bad guys make more hybrid dinos
hybrid dinos go wrong / bad
    good guys stop hybrid dinos.

You can get the gist of everything in the trailer. It's annoying
thats what people said about infinity war too yet the end result was huge surprises - so just wait.

Reviews seems all very positive, but then again it's critics (and most are Spanish so might be biased?) and one should only go for viewer score..

Some are good reviews, some just seem grouchy that it's not as good as the original which is unfair since cgi is not new anymore n u can't re-create teh feeling...I do agree there should be more Malcolm though.

So when are these films gonna portray dinosaurs more accurately to recent discoveries? I might go see it if raptors actually had feathers in it.

I prefer a giant anvil. Or a piano. Or boxes with "TNT" on em written in giant red ink. But angry triceratops can work too
