What are some must-watch TV shows?

Like shows that you want to just binge and can't stop watching. I'm talking GoT/Breaking Bad quality.

So, there's probably more than a few people that would tell me I have shit taste for this, but there's a TV show that I like more than Game of Thrones, an anime actually, called Sword Art Online. And to clarify, I really really like GoT. I'm fucking foaming at the mouth for the next episode, I keep up on all the fan theories and just generally obsess over the show. So I get how good it is. Never seen Breaking Bad though, maybe I should pick it up.

Anywho, Sword Art Online is the best show I've seen in a very long time. And I don't even really like anime that much. If anything I'm more hesitant to try new anime than I am new American TV shows. I would try and explain why it's so good, but that's really hard to do without giving massive spoilers, and that would kind of defeat the purpose.

    Sherlock.

Since you seem to enjoy the same series as IMDB viewers, who rate GoT and BB highest at 9.5, Sherlock comes in at 9.3, True Detective at 9.1, House of Cards at 9.0 and most other highly famous and popular series around 8.0-8.8. Personally I rate Game of Thrones and Sherlock as the two best series ever.

If you're interested in comedy/animated as well, the show Rick and Morty is completely crushing everything else in terms of popularity right now, and rightfully so.

Also, I havn't watched them myself, but everybody seems to be unable to shut up about how good True Detective and Homeland are. At least the first season(s).

    My taste:

    Current shows; GoT, Penny Dreadful.

All time; Sopranos, Deadwood, Rome, Battlestar Galactica. The Wire seasons 1 and 4 are very good.

The Shield(if you want to look at shows that basically started the modern trend of high quality, serious, serialized drama shows, this is one of the primaries)
    Deadwood
    Sons of Anarchy
    Justified
Better Call Saul(if you watched Breaking Bad I assume you watch this too?)
24(it got uneven later on, admittedly, but the first season is absolutely a must see)
Dexter(just pretend the last season doesn't happen)
    Fargo

If you want some comedies, I like Frasier, Community, Parks & Rec, and Modern Family.

As for animated stuff, the DC Animated Universe stuff(Batman:The Animated Series, Justice League/Justice League Unlimited) is the best DC comics stuff ever made outside of the comics themselves. Forget Snyder, forget Nolan, forget Arrow, forget Supergirl, just watch the DCAU to see DC characters done as right as you can hope for.

The Sopranos was pretty addicting. Can watch all 6 seasons (I think there's 6) on amazon Prime.

    House of Cards

When each season launches I basically just chill and watch the whole season in one go.

Orphan Black: first two seasons are amazing, third is... Lacklustre, forth is airing in Netflix right now and is crazy good.

Mr Robot: Only one season so far but it's a freaking AWESOME season. Second season airs soon, so we'll see if they're actually that good, or if they just got lucky.

Breaking Bad is a master piece and I'd recommend it to anyone that hasn't seen it. It's seriously the best show I've ever seen. I'd consider it a "must watch" just to see the gold standard for TV drama.

Aside from that I really The Walking Dead as well but it has its low points for sure.

Sons of Anarchy is a fun show as well buuuuut it kind of diminished in quality imo towards the end, much like Dexter. I think both shows are overall great but they could have ended far sooner than they did. House of Cards is also a very high quality show if you're into politics and drama in general.

The only shows I could put up there with BB/GoT would be Better Call Saul, Mr. Robot, Battlestar Galactica, and Sons of Anarchy. Freakin masterpieces.
