It isn’t about wins and losses. The game matches you with people from where you were for your placements so you are going end up right back where you were with a - or + based on personal performance.

Then you have to also factor in decay if you don’t consistently play.

For some reason, placements are ALWAYS awful, compared to typical competitive matches. Honestly, given how little they seem to matter, especially for continuous players, they should reconsider the system. Drop the number for steady players (to at MOST 5), or even eliminate them altogether.

It makes some sense if you've taken a break from the game (I have, for instance) to do some placements as an adjustment, but otherwise, feh. If they're concerned about people just coasting for Competitive rewards, put a minimum number of matches limit on them; "must play in 10 full matches this season to qualify"

Completely agree, it's every season, and every season is a 50-60SR "correction" to what I was playing last week. I just don't see the point at all, especially given how low quality the matches are, and they're so poor precisely because no one really cares enough because they know where they're going to end up.

The main consolation is that it's only 1 or maybe 2 evenings gaming to grind through them.

Finished my matches at 2040, then went on a very much OWED winning streak,
stopping after one (of many future ones I'm sure) loss.

And of course, the loss didn't come from a hard fought game, but because an asshole
REFUSED to switch from his instalock dps (a Sombra player, of all things). Hopefully
he gets banned right outta Comp.

So for now, 10 W / 5 L = 2118.

Well actual comp was little better than placements. The absolute fucking height of idiocy has been reached. After discussing how we could improve for round 3 by taking a second barrier to cope with their Widow, I take Orisa, the guy playing Rein goes DPS and our other tank goes Roadhog. Like literally, 30s after agreeing what would have worked better. It's fucking unbelievable. Next match, MOIRA is too busy fucking about trying to find the shield generator to be bothered to do any actual healing. Like fair enough, a flanker should take down a Teleporter, but fuck sake a Shield Generator really isn't so important that a fucking healer has to go looking for it. It's not just game sense these people lack, it's a sense of their own fucking being and what they decided to do.

Now back in silver, 1950ish because of this absolute stupidity.

Well I am enjoying how she gets 20 seconds to teleport instead of 15, I have been asking for that improvement for a long time since you drop teleporter, run to where the action is and by time you get a hack off and drop someone near death you have to teleport back and reset the teleporter. It is a big improvement to have more time to commit. I'm also naturally good at hitting head shots so the reduce bloom is great.

You sound like you only play placement matches and then go away until the next set which means your downtime is effecting your performance which is effecting your rank.

Sometimes you have to step back and look at what you personally are causing to happen to yourself, a little self inspection or open yourself up to external inspection without immediately jumping to the conclusion that the external is wrong because it doesn't match your self-perception.

I target them because of their shit communication. Look I play responsibly. I expect the same from others. I played in Asia servers as well. absolute shit hole. This can be random luck but I spent a well enough 3 months in Asia servers. I keep picking healers and tanks no matter what hoping it would lead others to play responsibly as well but noo my asian boys will pick hanzo, widow whatever 1 tank 5 dps, 1 healer 5 dps. This is not quick play.

Back to USA server. Pure magic. communication is great. When you happen to have an Asian -which is %90 koreans very little chinese and japanese- well, tough luck you probably lost the game. the more koreans you have in the team chances of losing the game increase. I dont want to keep arguing about how bad asians are playing in usa servers. I dont want to take notes and bring you a statistics. This is a fact at least for me. Thus, if i see a korean, chinese, japanese I immediately block widow and play till the end of the game. Much better in the hands of me.

I have been in my rank for 2 seasons. I am being demoted. I have never played games this hard. I have always easily averaged a KD of 3+. Now I am struggling to manage a KD of 2. I have not gotten worse, I have only gotten better.
