Noob hunter. MM stat question.

Okay so I am not the greatest player, but trying to figure out stats right now.

I know that Mastery is the go to stat, and that the more damage we do the better. So am I correct to understand that our Mastery effect is like really strong?

I am mainly trying to figure out how I should prioritize my gear. For instance I have a 805, and a 779 ring. 779 ring has 823 mastery, 439 crit and 565 statmina. 805 ring has 620 Crit, 931 Vers and 719 stamina. Replacing the 779 ring results in my Mastery damaging increase effect dropping from 76% to 70%. So if I am reading this all correctly this means I am losing a 6% damage increase with my focus costing abilities? Which is pretty bad right? Am I wrong to keep the 779 ring instead of the 805?
