[Guardian] Help with trinkets.

Hello guys!

I just got Talisman of Cragshaper lvl 865 in a mythic dungeon, but it does not seem to better then what i already got.

My current trinkets are:

Grotesque Statuette 850 item lvl
Coagulated Nightwell Residue 840 item lvl.

So its the upgrade in item lvl worth it? Is the item better for me or should i just leave it be?

How is it not better? It has your best stat and a 1 min CD 50% shield. I would replace the Statuette, which I find kinda lackluster since it doesn't really stack up high enough most of the time. Also kinda weak in raids where you'll be tank switching.

I think the Cragshaper Talisman is amazing from my experiences with it. I would replace the Nightwell Residue in a heartbeat with it as the Statuette is A) 10 ilvl higher of mastery and B) just an incredibly solid passive ability which I prefer over like double actives. Going back to comparing the Residue vs the Talisman, Ignoring the fact you are gaining 25 ilvls more of stats, versatility is simply better then mastery in general, let alone specific situations (necrotic for instance). I have found the 1 min CD on the trinket fairly insane at 855 as its like 750K damage absorbed every minute and since its only 1 min its up for at least every other pack in mythic dungeons and multiple times per boss for some of the larger hits.

grotesque statuette is the best single target defensive trinket. its value diminishes dramatically when facing two or more targets. if you're doing dungeons, i recommend you swap statuette out with cragshaper. raids you'll mostly want to keep statuette on
