    *edit*
I Never took the phrase "Draining the swamp" to mean, get rid of life long politicians, I took it to mean "everyone who talked shit about me is going to be looking for a new job".

Because they are desperate. The vast majority of people with sense, decency, and above all competency, do not want to join his administration. If you see a burning building is your first thought "I better run into it so I can burn with it"? No you stay far away and watch what happens from the sidelines. As a result Trump's campaign is left scrambling for fifth rate no-hopers, or extreme long shots to fill extremely important government positions.

If Trump does that then I will be pleasantly surprised. He always surrounds himself with loyalists and yes men, appointing someone who was against him running would show character.

Not sure if thats what the "burn down the swamp" guys had in mind, but that does sound less scary than some of the other ideas. He is basicly just one more standard entitled rich guy, who thinks goverment positions are gifts from your "friends" to make some money.
Just like the last Secretary of State :>

Draining swamp, was about getting rid of the status quo (corruption, "the establishment"). Furthermore the GOP has already said they would not support term limits.

    ????

That makes no sense. If an ego-maniac says x, then you think he will do x? Is that what you are saying?

Why is an ego-maniac more trustworthy than anyone else? Of the people in real life you know who have big ego's does those ego's make them more trustworthy? Because from my own experiences big ego'd people are far far more likely to screw you over than those who are humble.

What you are saying defies common sense and logic.

"A source close to Donald Trump with direct knowledge of the President Elect's thinking confirms"
Anyone else catch this? That's......I don't know how to put this........that's some next level bullshit gossip.

Until we have ACTUAL information on it, we really don't know. Is he considered for the position? Probably. Will he make a good Secretary of State? Seeing as how he's familiar with shipping jobs over seas I'd think so.

Funny thing this is what the GOP had to say:

On Trump's vow to "drain the swamp" through term limits, which would require a constitutional amendment, McConnell commented: "I would say we have term limits now. They're called elections. And it will not be on the agenda in the Senate."

I'm trying to remember the specific steps he said he would take to drain the swamp. I can't for the life of me remember those details, I mean I remember him saying he would and the crowd roaring and chanting it, but I can't remember his 10 point plan. It's almost like he told the crowd what they wanted to hear.... weird.

No, im saying I expect people who act like children to throw a temper tantrum when someone is mean to them. Give that child the power of the presidency and I expect heads to roll.

It seems out of character for Ego Manic Trump.

If Romney is willing to make some sort of public "fog of war" statement, some implicit mea culpa, he would be a pretty phenomenal choice for that post. It answers some critics that Trump is just Putin's pawn while also twisting the knife in Obama foreign policy -- the man Obama laughed at for considering Russia a geopolitical rival.

That's a great feel though. It implies that your worldview is more correct than you had originally considered, which, given the flaming trainwreck marking the end of the Clintonite era, might be of use for you in particular.

I'd be surprised if this happened as Romney and Trump have an outright animosity towards one another since Trump was demanding Romney release his tax returns back during Romneys nomination.

This shows how badly short of competent people the Trumpists are. They are either scraping the bottom of the barrel going after people no competent new administration would touch (Petraeus), or going for extreme long shots in the wild hope they will pay off (Romney).

If Romney is smart he will stay far far away. Let bad ship Trump sink without destroying his own reputation.

Yeah more "swamp draining" from Don Cheeto. Still laughing at how hard those of you that voted for him got conned. Anyway, I'd much rather have Romney as the secretary of state. Giuliani is a moron of astronomical proportions. We're already the laughing stock of the world, we don't need him to further soil our image.
