I don't get why liberals are all up in arms over the possible influence of Russia on our government. One word for you : allies!

Don't worry mate, some people are believers. I bet in 4 years, when all signs are leading to a bad place, they still will believe.

Russia's goals are explicitly contrary to ours.

Allies! They're our buddies now. You can't get more un-American than being against American allies.

Russia is not the U.S.'s friend.

At the very least, you could wait until Trump is actually President. But more realistically, you could wait until he's actually sworn in.

Do you actually expect people to quit their jobs before they even know if they have the new job? If he doesn't get the Secretary of State job, is he just supposed to go back to the company and say "Oh hey, my bad, can I have my job back?"

You want to compare this to Clinton, but Clinton was ALREADY in the government. That's why it's an ongoing issue.

Why should I? He's making decisions now that will effect us.

Once he's nominated? Yes. Somehow I think he'll land on his feet if he gets shot down.

The Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic welcomes their new brother country USA.
Now you can not only see Russia from land in Alaska like Sarah Palin, you are a vassal country and Putin will help you find your place in pan-Russian!

    добро пожаловать

Just more evidence that rich people can buy power even in politics, even though they have fuck all for political experience and will just use the position for financial gain because the system allows that kind of abuse.

He's making decisions that may effect you in a month. Has anyone asked him if he's going to step down as director?

Because all I can find right now is that he's done at the end of 2016.

Or maybe he has a plan to exit the company before he begins his new job? That's all that is required.

You don't think people that have negotiated deals across the globe worth millions/billions of dollars and led a company with thousands of employees has experience with politics? Okay.. yeh.. sure buddy.

Being CEO of a large company requires a certain set of skills.. They aren't just "random plebs that happen to have money".

Everyone paying attention was already well aware this was a thing. This is the entire basis of the claims that ending sanctions to Russia was of benefit to Exxon-Mobile. What is the point of linking this??

The end of 2016, December 31st, 2016 comes before January 20th, 2017. What are you on about?

Also, his career at Exxon is over when he turns 65, per company policy.

It's not, I think. replace "Germany" with "US" or "UK" and it makes sense. It's a bit wonky, but I think if you're some russian hack, you can get away with it.

I was explaining to Wells that he's likely quitting before he starts his job, which is why I linked that. You seem to be confused about my post.

That much we can agree on. =p

But yes, he will leave his post and divest his stock before he takes his oath. That didn't seem to matter with Dick Cheny and his divested Halliburton stock though, so I doubt the left will treat him fairly about his former job.

How does this even work in light of the embargo? Trump appears to have drained the swamp right into the White House...

"The documents from the Bahamas corporate registry were shared by Süddeutsche Zeitung with the Guardian and the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists in Washington DC"

That wraps up another liberal circlejerk thread folks.

The republicans get power. The republicans and their oil company cronies are going to rape America. What else is new?
