What are your thoughts on piercings/body mods and similar things?

Are we lumping tattoos in with this? I love tattoos. Especially when they have a good story behind them. However moderation is key as in with all things. Piercings are fine. The girl in your picture imo has gone a little far but in the end it's her body.

Stretching your ears and cutting holes in your nose and cheeks to put large plugs in is disgusting to me. Regular piercings , tattoos, and even derm implants are okay imo.

There's people out there who actually want to cut their arms and legs and ears off. I just don't understand that at all

I love them, but I can't stand having them. I had nose, lip and eyebrow pierced earlier...but when I got more into sports at a high level, it was just too inconvenient. Now I just have 3 ear piercings.

Body mods like in the OP I find disgusting but that's why I don't have any. If someone like the person in the photo walked up to me to ask me something, in all honesty, I might recoil a bit.

They all look hideous, but I hate tattoos as well. Body piercings must be annoying going through metal detectors at airports.

Everybody has the right to do with their body as they please.

For me personally good tattoos and simple piercings are okay and wouldn't bother me. Extreme cases and those fucking earlobe gauges area total turn-off though, tbh. :P

Although many of them are not "for me" aesthetically, I generally like body mods quite a lot and have been varying degrees of involved in both the online and local community for a very long time.

Its their body. Opinions like this says far more about you than theirs mods do about them.

Why should they be banned? Name one good reason? And no your opinion on what they look like isn't one. People that call cor everything they don't like or is damgerous to be banned are the worst kind of people alive.

The guys I know who own businesses in trades refer to the 20 somethings with the plates in the ears as " useless holey eared bastards"
They won't take one seriously or do anything with them, call it discrimination or whatever bullshit you want to cook up, but the consensus are is they are useless and do - not- hire.
When I open my consulting firm... ( It's close) I'll be avoiding them as I know already my customer base thinks of them that way.

It's like neck, face,tats across the upper chest on women, and people with wrist/ finger tattoos.. poor life decision making. = poor decision making.

Well, I had horns implanted, my septum pierced, and spikes in my ears. I had no problem getting a good job, though now they're all gone. Took them out because they require too much work to maintain, mostly.

Yeah, if you go overboard, no one is going to think you make good decisions. A few isn't terrible, so long as they aren't permanent. Things like face/hand/neck tattoos, and tongue splitting, no thanks, too permanent for me.
