I don't know how to put the video in here, but it shows Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch asking Sessions during his hearing if he would pledge to reassemble a committee to look into the "porn problem" plaguing the USA and Sessions agreeing he would.

Now, I don't know if that means child porn specifically, but I guess it could.

This part of the hearing was about Fed. obscenity laws and Hatch wanting confirmation from Sessions that he would vigorously enforce and enhance them all over the USA.

If this was only about child porn, however, why would a committee need to be reassembled?

I mean, is child porn not a thing we need to police anymore so the committee was disassembled?

I wouldn't say it's a problem at all unless you're a religious nut. People get addicted to it no different than people who get addicted to a ton of other non addictive shit. I barely watch it but I don't see what the issue is. For many it's convenience. For others, it's just an addition to their sex life. For some, it's a way to act on kinks without acting on them.

As long as the porn is legal and no one is getting harmed, who fucking cares? Again, I find it hilarious that religious nuts on the right, and especially reps and senators from Utah, always find themselves at the center despite red states and super mormon Utah having much higher porn consumption rates than anywhere else.

That's not because of porn. That's because of Japan itself. Many modern countries are slowly going down the same path but Japan's work culture and cost of living prior to the newly added tax incentives kicked things into overdrive.
