1,700 U.S. Rabbis urge Trump to “open the borders” to Syrian refugees

More than 1,700 U.S. rabbis signed a letter calling on the Trump administration to continue to allow people from Syria, Iraq, Iran and other war zones to come into the U.S. to live permanently.

Signers of the letter included rabbis from every major denomination.

In addition, the letter called for the refugee resettlements to be increased and strengthened – and not decreased.

The rabbis said that it was part of their Jewish faith to "welcome the stranger" and uphold a legacy of welcome.

Do you think Trump should change his policies in light of the Rabbis letter and allow more Syrian/Muslim refugees from warzones in to the US to live permanently?

US Jews are crazy left wing.

If I knew with 100% certainty that they weren't going to go ape shit one day and machine gun a shopping mall at Christmas time, I would let them into the country. The ones we've let in so far seem to be integrating well which in America means they got jobs and are self supporting.

1,700 rabbits urge President Trump to accept Syrian refugees, threaten massive wire-chewing action.

Israel has taken in - zero - Syrian refugees - so I think the rabbis might be contradicting themselves with their statements of "welcoming the stranger".

bit confused by this letter tbh

It could be 17 million Rabbis. Trump only listens to himself.

    Don't let them.

Even if it is a 0.1% chance one of them will shoot up a club or airport.

    I wouldn't take the chance.

This might surprise you, but American Jews aren't Israelis. So why would what Israel does or doesn't do have anything to do with the views of American Jews?

This is religion, so it's not left wing. It's Jewish supremacy that sees the white man as an obstacle to power.

Conservatives/Republicans need to stop supporting Israel n Jews, you are funding your own demise! With such friends you don't need enemies!

How many of these 1700 rabbis do you think support the same open borders for israel??

I don't want to split hairs, but I'm 87.38126% confident that he listens to the voices. And I'm this close to proving that it's from Space aliens planning a global take over of the pygmy fish of North Africa

Do you accept the empirical fact that the majority of acts of violence in the USA are done by people who are born and live here?

The terrorists have won. They have instilled such a fear into our nation that we're unwilling to try and help people.

(Not blaming you specifically, just pointing out that they have changed our way of life forever... )

I think its a pretty decent show from the Jewish religious leadership - definitely not small.

I can understand that its ok for Israel to take in 0 refugees as they are technically at war with Syria and have been in the past.

Im really not sure if muslim refugees pose a huge threat to the U.S.

Any Jewish organization that doesn't see fit to protest this should probably just shut its doors.

It's almost like religious people believe in compassion and empathy with their fellow man or something. What kind of crazy topsy turvy world are we living in??

As are Christians in basically every country outside the US.

The idea of a "religious right" boggles my mind to this day.

Evangelicals voted for Trump. Their faith is more about group supremacy than piousness.

Even Utah turned out to be a cinch for the Republicans despite widespread disdain for Trump there.

At this point partisan politics has caused irreparable brain damage, IMO.
