Hundreds and hundreds of movies are released every year. Sure, superhero movies are some of the big ones that draw a lot of attention, but they are not even a single full percentage of the movies in 2017. I don't know your taste in movies intricately, but I find it more likely that there's a lot of movies you haven't checked out rather than you finding "most" movies of the year "completely unwatchable".

I don't know, I feel the movie industry are only targeting young audiences with superhero movies etc. I enjoyed The Mummy, but that is also targeted toward younger audiances. I feel not many movies targeted more mature audiances so to speak. Of the big productions that is.

    Top 10 for me:
1: Star Wars The Last Jedi. I know it's been VERY divisive, but I loved it.
2: Thor Ragnarok. FINALLY a decent Thor movie.
3: Valerian and the long title. A feast for the eyes, with a decent plot and Cara Delawhatsit.
4: Logan. a truly adult Comic book film, with a seriously sad ending
5: GoTG2. Speaking of sad endings, at least this one had a funny film to cushion the blow.
6: Kingsman 2. Proving once again why we no longer need James Bond.
7: Kong: Skull Island. Took me a while to see it, but I actually really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the rest of the Monster Universe.
8: Justice League. Solid world building, not GREAT, but good. I'm hoping the directors cut will fix a lot of my problems with it.
9: Spoderman: Homecoming. Not a bad film, not great, but decent. Tom Holland is a solid Spider-Man, but not a great Peter Parker.
10: Alien Covenant. Literally only here because I seem to have only seen 10 (new) films in 2017. Awful, awful film.

Logan is targeted more towards an older audience than 2 out of the 3 movies you listed as being the "good" ones.

The top 3 films were my clear favorites of the year thus far. Hard to rank the rest so they're in no particular order:

    1. Call Me By Your Name
    2. Get Out
    3. Logan

War for the Planet of the Apes
    John Wick: Chapter 2
    The Big Sick
    Star Wars: The Last Jedi
    Lady Macbeth
    IT
    Baby Driver

I've just watched Star Wars: The Last Jedi & Justice League. They will not be added to my top 10 list, which is a shame. I had high-ish expectations for both of them. This year there are only a couple of movies that could maybe get into my top 10, which are Jumanji (maybe), Bright & I still need to watch the new Blade Runner.

Apart from those three I think my 2017 movie watching spree is pretty much nearly done.

My favorite was new blade runner. Loved it. never caught the first one but new blade runner was a gem.

    Thor rag was amazing.

Last jedi I dunno whether to love it or hate it.

Dunkirk was...somewhat disappointing. It wasn't horrible...but I just have no reason to see it again.

Added Bright, which I enjoyed quite a bit. Due to this The Hitman's Bodyguard has been moved out of the list. I will watch Blade Runner 2049 at some point in the next couple of weeks, but I think my list is pretty much done.

Now this is awkward. Since I've only seen SW:TLSJW this year and just hated almost everything about it.. well I guess:

    1..10: Star Wars

    I'll go throw up now.

I should have probably watched at least Bladerunner, but I just can't be arsed to go the movie theatre anymore. I just wait for it to come to TV, streaming sites or DVD/BR.

Some top 10 list videos that have popped up on my YouTube feed, might be enjoyable for some:

LOL if you have a problem with the "SJW" content in TLJ, which amounts to little more than "not a completely white cast", you probably struggle a lot in every day life.

Not the point of the thread, just go and get your options from the verge and vox though, as you demonstrated in the appropriate topic for this .

    1. Wind River
    2. Logan

    Riiight.

Also not sure why it's not the point of the thread since you brought it up in the first place.

I think you should watch TLJ a whole bunch more times. Just keep a barf bucket handy, and maybe some water so you don't dehydrate

While you are free to discuss 2017 movies, perhaps keep the TLJ bickering to the TLJ thread.
