I remember a time when the people on the left HATED violence and LOVED the ability to speak freely without the threat of violence. Yet, they seem to have abandoned those principles for some stupid reasons.

There are many degrees of "people on the left". I myself are "centered left" and i definitely approve of violence if it help save someone who can't defend him/herself.

How is this in any way contradictory to what I said? You jumped in and started going on about how I want to "debate with nazis" when I didn't say that and saying that we should punish them when they break laws doesn't contradict this. So why did you give me shit for my post?

I understood just fine. Admitting to it would only be irrational if I was trying to avoid the consequences. I'm not. Because as I explained above, I don't care if I get banned for a little while. I love this forum and all, but not so much that I get separation anxiety. As an added bonus, the people that typically disagree with me are more content to just play up the victim complex instead of just, you know, reporting my shit.

Of course people want safe space. We all want a guarantee not to be bludegoned, and beaten to death because of difference in opinion. You on the other hand, seem to think that ideas can be as dangerous as fists thus it's all or nothing. To say that is misguided, is selling it short.
