Do you have 3d mark time spy? If not thats cool, but here is my score for that:

That might be it. Mine is only clocked at 4.2 or so. I can't remember, because I had some system instability at 4.4. Never tried to go any higher, which is a shame, since I have an AIO liquid cooler.

See thats weird, dude a page back got over 14000 with a 980. Your 1070 should be well above ~800 point lead.

Your score seems normal (3200 points above my 1060) but the 980 score seems off.

The CPU itself has a lot to say when you hit the cap of which FFXIV can utilize on your GFX

Ya and i went over that above, its still not enough to make up for the kind of scores were talking about here. Also the guy above has a 6600k which is a faster CPU clock for clock, so if he has a mild overclock only that is comparable to the 980 score a page back. (a 1070 is a much faster card than a 980, his score should be well higher than only 800 point lead)

I also posted my 3d mark time spy score for reference, but the guy with the 980 didnt post his.

  7. #27
anyway one of you with a card comparable to a Titan X (not XP, but i think a 980ti/1060) could run this at 2560x1600 (i game at that reso with a 30inch monitor).
I don't have a sub atm for FF but might come back if the FPS is nice at highest settings

The benchmark is free. Link at the bottom of the first post.

Try it with 1080p maximum fullscreen as settings.

As for overclocking you cant on your CPU, GPU overclocking these days is rarely worth it but can be easily done with msi afterburner or evga precision.

  10. #30
Your loading times are crap, double or more than everyone else. You either have a horrible drive or one that is not performing optimally.

  11. #31
I know you are talking to guy above but:
    Loading Times by Scene
    Scene #1 5.610 sec
    Scene #2 4.589 sec
    Scene #3 4.310 sec
    Scene #4 5.895 sec
    Scene #5 10.751 sec
    Scene #6 2.125 sec
    Total Loading Time 33.283 sec

This is a faster than the last time i ran it, each time it will get faster and faster due to hybrid hard drive. Disregarding scene 5 for whatever reason, its only ~2 seconds behind people's ssd's, for a fraction of price. This drive really impressed me.

First download seatools for windows and check for errors. Other than that not a ton you can do really, aside from a reformat or a new drive.

What exact drive is the game installed on? If it is on an HDD and not an SSD, it will have much longer loading times. If it is on an HDD, then the speed of the HDD (5400. 7200, etc)could also be a factor, and/or it could need defragging.

Possibly even faster than that, depending on the speed of the SSD.

This benchmark just does not like ryzen lol.

Something is definitely off, a guy with a gtx 980 almost beat your score (14,2xx). Same guy has a haswell cpu at 4.7ghz, they are very close in IPC id say identical, 700mhz isnt making the difference here its that the benchmark does recognize ryzen properly or something.

A 1080ti is at least 2x as fast as a 980, something not adding up here lol.

And, looking at the CPU and GPU usage throughout the test, the GPU is typically sitting at 40-50% utilization, with a few spikes to 80%, and all CPU cores are at <50%.
