Never really. We've never had a female led expansion (Wrath was probably closest with Jaina and Sylvanas) nor an expansion that had a female main antagonist.

Earlier someone pointed out that the masses aren't right just for being in the majority (the example used was vaccination, etc.). In this case, people aren't right just because they are in the majority either. What started as someone comparing a few corners of the logo's frame with older logos, to someone else calling the colour flat on the letters of 'Warcraft', eventually became doctrine in this thread for no good reason. We've even seen a second version of the logo afterwards, in which all of these tiny details look slightly different from before. This suggests it's an animated logo, which in turn nullifies all previous criticism of its quality.

The fact that parts of it are similar to the Legion logo is just a plain stupid argument to make. ALL the expansion logotypes have various elements that are similar or identical to the base WoW logo. Why would 8.0 be a complete departure from the rest?

Also, protip: The expansion name on an animated logo is the last thing to happen. It wouldn't show up while the logo is still turning, as indicated by the first picture. And also another friendly reminder that the only reason for it to be a strange angled photo, twice, is to deliberately try and make it seem more real, which an actual leak would not have to do. Every photo like this that has ever been posted has been false, and real leaks do not try to make themselves look like real leaks (see the WoD and Legion simple posts and riddles).

That means nothing. Had you looked at another aspect of the WoW logotypes prior to [insert expansion title here], you would instead say "but mate, they've always used [x] and [y], [expansion logo] is clearly fake." Again, there is no formula, at least beyond the general shape of the logotype and the inclusion of the Warcraft name and the globe in the background. Everything else changes.

It's not correct to capitalize "the" and "of" in titles. Native english speakers might not pay that much attention to it, but people that learn it as a second language pay attention to stuff like that since.

Azshara and N'zoth were never a "fan concept", they are a core aspect of the game's lore, but many different fan concepts arose around a potential expansion based on her simply because everyone knows we will eventually get one. Just like everyone knew we would eventually get a full-blown Legion-themed expansion.

I'm not talking about Azshara and N'zoth, I am talking about all of the South Seas expansion concepts that revolve around them. They're fan made. Nearly all of their content is fan fiction. Azshara and N'zoth is not and I never said that.

This argument makes no sense. You're comparing Cataclysm, an expansion you've known about for years, to ToV, a hypothetical expansion you haven't even seen a trailer for. Who is to say that once you've seen the announcement, it doesn't all make perfect sense?

Again, Cataclysm is a very specific description for something that happens. Cataclysm has a meaning. Tides of Vengeance hasn't. Could it get a meaning throughout the expansion? Yes, sure. But it's still vague in every way possible. Cataclysm is an earth-shattering event (guess what, caused by the former Aspect of Earth). Tides of Vengeance is uhm ehm I don't know.

As long as it's because of their actual relevance to events and not because "lol we need more females in power or the SJWs will whine pointedly on Tumblr and Facebook at us", I'm 100% on board with that. I love when games have great female characters who rise to power through their own efforts, for good or for evil. And don't get me wrong - Warcraft lore as a whole has some great female characters, but most of them live in the background (or get promoted to spotlight just long enough to killed off - I loved Zaela before we had to kill her).

Another reason people would take photos of leaks is because they happen to be at a location where the information is available. They might not be working on it. They may not have accessed it through hacking. Perhaps they're attending a presentation, walking by a co-worker's monitor, doing prep work for BlizzCon, etc. Who knows? There have been Blizzard leaks in the past from photographs, IIRC the Old Gods expansion for Hearthstone or something like that was seen on a big mural.

Didn't Jaina (and maybe Sylvanas ) have an important role in WotLK.

Also Jaina was quite important in MoP too, Vanessa (Cant remember the third windrunner's name) too to some degree.

WoD: Yrel played a big role in ally leveling.

As for Legion, there's also Helya and Alleria.

They're both water/ocean themed and have similar power sets. They are both mages that were granted huge power boosts. That's all they need.
