I'm still unsure how this will work. From what I understand, the "Proving Grounds" stage we're in from today for 2 weeks seems very very intransparent: How would you even know which team has done which dungeons? When it goes to the Tournament Realm after these 2 weeks, then it might be slightly better, but even then, you would have to watch the streams to know how it went.

On the progression Raiding, at least you have wowprogress or raider.io to track the progress of all participating groups, but here, it's just weird.

You can check the m+ leader board on wow progress (not a classement of the teams but of the best dungeon runs)

There was a blue post with a rulebook yesterday.

Their goal is to complete the highest keys in time, to track progress just look for highest completed keys during the week on raider.io/wowprogress.

I suspect you might find a lot of the most competitive teams won't stream, as completing keys at the very highest levels may require the development of strategies that those using them probably don't want to share. It is a competition after-all.

so the affixes in the upcoming 2 weeks are:

first week: teeming + quaking + foritified
second week: raging + necrotic + tyrannical

Imo the second week is quite the worst to push keys in the 20's, the first week offers the best affixes for 23/24 pushes.

I didn't get one thing: are they competing for highest key completion within time, or fastest times?
Or both? As in, If someone manages to run a +23 with 1 minute to spare, the competition must complete another 23 with more than one minute to spare?

I assume that's how it's going to work yeah.

I imagine extra time is only used to decide ties.

So what would be better, me completing a +15 with more than half the timer left, or another guy completing a +17 with less than half the time?

    a +17 in 20min0sec is better than a +17 in 20min1sec.

I'm pretty sure that if you complete a 17 in time it will always be better than a 15, no matter how much time is left.

The guy doing a 17. The main point is to complete the highest dungeon possible, then if there's a tie, you look at completion times

What specs would you guys be surprised to see played in the M+ cup? I don't think we'll see any Frost DKs or Surv Hunters, and I wouldn't be surprised to not see any Prot Pals make it in.

Any reason why Prot Paladins are considered bad now? They were considered one of the strongest most versatile tanks in M+ not too long ago.

Think a lot of it boils down to low damage when it comes to pally tanks, they're pretty low in M+
