Being white is almost like a crime to some of the most special people here, it is completely tolerated by mods, I wonder what happens if I say some of the same stuff or even something remotely in that nature about the blacks? It would be anathema, I'd probably get molotov cocktails thrown at my house.

All lives matter simply means we shouldn't treat some groups as having a free pass on violence against other group, no matter the color of their skin. In other words, you don't get to loot shops just because of some crime against a person of your color.

47 year old white guy here, I've been saying for 3 years that I would vote for the reanimated corpse of Hitler himself before I would vote for Trump or any Republican. I've always considered myself mostly socialist. I voted for Bernie in his primaries, but I had enough sense to vote for Hillary in 2016 instead of a third party.

This is a really tired line of dialogue. I have never once been discriminated against for being a White Male. I do not know anyone who has. Nobody is treating white like being a crime, and I have never feared for my life when a policeman pulled me over. In fact, I have never had a policeman be anything other then unfailingly nice to me.

Nobody is getting a free pass on violence. It is entirely a strawman you are creating. Nobody is against arresting looters, or violent shitheads that hurt their fellow Americans, and it doesn't matter what race or political background that violent shithead has.

However, as a society we are responsible for keeping our own law enforcement accountable. We can't deal with lawlessness if those responsible for enforcing it are perpetrating it themselves. Over the last few weeks, we have seen some admirable, courageous, honest policing. We have seen policemen upholding their duty to serve and protect the population as the express themselves, and I honor them for doing so. Unfortunately we have also seen the opposite, and that is what we have to focus on right now, because that is the deviation from the expected norm.

It is not OK to abuse peaceful protestors, it is not ok to gas, beat, shoot, and run over American citizens for expressing themselves. And we have seen all those things. All lives do matter, but there is a persistent pattern of black men losing their lives for appalling reasons, and therefore we have to focus on that. A society that cannot protect all its members is not a society, it is multiple societies that share some geography.

Because I don't believe in "White America" and "Black America". I know what those concepts are, I know they exist, but I have no loyalty or interest in them. If we want to move past that, I see an American that was brutally murdered by a policeman. I am an American as much as George Floyd was, an attack on him is an attack on me, and on the values I believe in. It has to end, and people have to be accountable for that.

It isn't discrimination it is being held accountable for their actions and behaviour towards others. Previously there were laws that justified said behaviour that is no more or less obvious, so all this white discrimination is nothing more than no longer being allowed to being openly racist and facing repercussions for it.

It is telling that once people are treated as equals that they see it as discrimination against them.

If your kind was truly different than those who did the killing, they would acknowledge that part of their history and not trying to hide it. They would own up to it so they showed others they learned from it and declare they wish to have no repeat of it. This is what political parties did who were tied with collaboration, they owned up to their past, killed their so-called heroes and removed bad actors of that mindset from their party, publicly.

By denying this as you are simply tells me either the movement is not mature or simply has no real regrets of such events and perhaps even dreams about yet another authoritarian regime led by said ideology.
