Ehh, I think that's a rather rosy characterisation of Biden's performance. Not that I think Biden can't debate, but from what I've seen the merit in Biden's performance is that for the most part he managed not to be phased by all the shit thrown at him from Trump's direction.
Please do, I'm very interested. I recall reading/hearing a report on this earlier in the year (around mid-summer) that most of the complications for folks on ventilators were not specifically caused by the ventilators themselves, but by how bad the virus was wrecking their bodies to the point that ventilation was required. I have vague memories of some of that being attributed to the ventilator, but by way of, "the only reason for this is because the body is so weakened" to the point where not being on one would likely lead to death.
The White House currently has more hospitalizations due to COVID than the entire country of New Zealand.

My understanding is this: The ballots are already set, so this is what happens:
1. People vote for the Trump/Pence ticket.
2. Assume, hypothetically, the Trump/Pence ticket wins.
3. Electors who are bound vote for Pence for VP (and even unbound electors probably will as well).
4. Electors will be freed to vote for whoever they want for President. There could be an unprecedented campaign to install someone the whole GOP agrees to, but this would be difficult as this would literally install an unvoted-for President to the United States. I imagine all of them will vote for a prominent local Republican, meaning no one secures the electoral votes for POTUS.
(5. Optional: Assuming Trump dies before Jan 21st, Pence may appoint a VP as he ascends to the Presidency. As usual, this person has to pass both houses of Congress, which might be hard, but also politically risky for Dems to deny.)
6. On Jan 21st, Pence is sworn in as VP, and immediately elevated to office of the President as the seat is currently vacant because no one got 270 electoral votes.
7. Pence again nominates someone to be VP. This doesn't need to be the same person as before Jan 21st, but does need to be approved by Congress. Again, Dems could play hardball here, and might have more of a case if they control both houses to get a more moderate person in, like Kasich.
Unfortunately, as far as I understand, Pence would be President no matter what.

I was going to say the same for Biden. Constant stammering, fumbling with his words, etc... Trump pretty well destroyed him out the gate, but at least Biden woke up half way through and started getting engaged. It's reassuring that people looked favorably on Biden's performance (given overall, in my opinion, he has a more agreeable outlook), but judging Biden to have "beat the shit out of Trump" is going to require extensive mental gymnastics.

I took the interpretation more as "Biden's overall platform and policies are better, therefore his debating skills [magically] were better". In terms of administration and policy, yeah, sure Biden has the advantage because he's at least somewhat competent and (mostly) awake. It takes a lot of imagination to think the debate itself was masterfully won by Biden.
You think you're a big man for ragging on someone's speech impediment, huh?
For the record, that's what Trump's tactic was - trying to get Biden to stutter because it's well known that being interrupted or having to start a fresh train of thought are triggers for stuttering.
But then again it's pretty on brand for Trump to attack people's disabilities, I just didn't think you'd be so unsubtle about following his lead.
