Okay, took a sliiiight spill down some stairs when my bad leg gave out on me and the handrail...also gave out. It's been a fun evening. I'm fine, my leg is as fine as it was before the tumble, but I won't be buying lottery tickets anytime soon. This will be a short report.
65,981 new cases, about 2k fewer than last week. Better than the past couple days, but not great. Texas is still lying.
1,268 deaths is about 250 fewer than last Friday and brings the total to 554,104. This, at least, is a bit back on track. I remain optimistic we can drop below 1k for a couple days next week.

CNN expands on the plane story with barely-disguised glee.
It's at this point in the article you can hear people laughing in the background. I think I heard glasses tink together.Glory days of Trump's gold-plated 757 seem far away as plane sits idle at a sleepy airport
One engine is missing parts. The other is shrink-wrapped in plastic. The cost to fix and get it flyable could reach well into the high six-figures, a price-tag Trump doesn't appear to be dealing with right now. Though the current state of his finances aren't public, the Covid-19 pandemic has taken a toll on the hospitality industry home to so many of his businesses.
Flight records accessed by CNN show the 757 hasn't been flown at all since Inauguration Day, when Trump's use of Air Force One ended, leaving him to less showy modes of transport.
Yes, but I'm assuming Trump did.A CNN camera crew saw Trump's plane parked on a fenced-off tarmac at the small upstate New York airport on Wednesday, about an hour and a half drive from Trump Tower. The choice to leave it outside at a northeastern airport, exposed to the elements, has baffled aviation experts who spoke with CNN. They note that it's just a few hours' flight to warmer, more arid climes. Snow, rain, and moisture can lead to metal corrosion of the airframe and the engines -- hard to detect, and, in severe cases, catastrophic. Large airplanes are typically stored for long stretches of time in the desert southwest, where the dry climate makes corrosion nearly impossible.
When he hit the campaign trail in earnest, the 757, aka "Trump Force One," became as much a promotional ploy as billboards or TV ads. Look how successful I am-- was the message Trump was sending to voters, sometimes parking it behind the stage at his rallies.
During the presidential campaign, Trump talked up the powerful Rolls-Royce RB211 turbofan engines on his 757, saying he personally insisted on having the 500-mph engines installed. "They're special, they're really popular, the most popular," said Trump in a 2013 documentary about the plane. In reality, the engines are standard on this particular model of Boeing 757.
But, like many Trump accoutrements crafted for the purpose of marketing, the reality of the giant jet was different behind the scenes. It was a money suck, a plane past its prime with decaying mechanics and exorbitant storage fees.
"Flying that thing was so expensive," says a former senior official. "I don't think people realized that just to get it up in the air and make one stop was literally tens of thousands of dollars."
The article goes on and on, because damn does CNN love them a victory lap. But one of the points they mention, then write in boldface, then point to while jumping up and down, is that this plane isn't exactly new. It's actually about 30, which is about the age when Trump divorces his wives. Replacement parts for a plane that old won't be easy to get...or cheap. And sources -- reliable sources like Forbes, not Trump -- say that Trump has lost seven hundred million dollars since his inauguration. And he wasn't under investigation yet -- except for the tax audit he claimed he was under, and now provably is.The cost to fly a Boeing 757 is about $15,000 to $18,000 per hour, according to CNN aviation analyst David Soucie. But that's when the plane can actually fly. Trump's 757 is nowhere near flight ready, according to an experienced pilot who saw it this week. The source declined to be identified.
I didn't see the name of the airport, but from what we know (90 minutes out of NYC, but in upstate NY) I believe it's at Stewart, near Woodbury, so one would assume the plane is surrounded by zombies and piloted by a one-eyed murderer.

Maybe it was, but the article I just cited (which TheHill cited) said "hundreds of thousands" and even "could be one million".
Why do you keep framing this like some fucking conflict, dude?
She didn't know Guam is a part of the US because she's a retard.
He cheekily paid her a visit with goodies, she's literally his colleague FYI.
There was no disagreement. No conflict. I'm not gonna say that this wasn't done to score political points, it was that's why he filmed it and all (same with Clyburn who, again, didn't seem remotely intimidated either because it's his colleague walking with some Guardsmen?)

More like she didn't want to be in front of cameras.
Again, why is she so "threatened" by this when Rep. Clyburn greeted them with a smile and open arms?

Actually no, that's not what the "apples to torpedoes" mention is referencing, it's not scale. What do apples and torpedoes even have to do with each other to make it a matter of scale, unless we're talking like...volume, in which case that's still a nonsensical comparison.
I made it because it's comparing two completely different things.

Are military escorts traditionally unarmed and unequiped?
Can someone give me a TLDR, because this is fascinating, but I don’t understand.
Did Guam use unarmed military in a cessation attempt and we are having a small military parade? I’m confused...

At this point if anyone thought Guam tried to take over the US capital by force...and bribery by way of some awesome cookies...then we're on the same page.
There's got to be a Trumpweight of truth behind this. Why spend your own money when you can spend someone else's?
Of course, it's still several tons of evidence of Trump's business sense, when he left the plane sitting in the rain for four years. Kind of like owning a classic car, and leaving it in your front yard until it rusts.
