The NYTimes and WaPo mutually report that Cipollone is going to testify. Friday morning, behind closed doors, but on the record.

For those who forgot, Cipollone was the one who said “we’re going to get charged with every crime imaginable”.

There is no crazy push to the extreme left. You have a relative handful of people doing/saying crazy stuff which gets repeated and amplified on the internet for clicks/views. Or in some cases isn't even happening.

Some social media accounts and youtube channels use this as a model. Find something you know will piss off your followers and pretend it's some enormous thing taking place when in reality it's not. All of the wacko stuff about "woke leftists" isn't coming out of the mouths of dems who actually control things or the vast majority of their voters.

If someone abandoned the left/dems because of anything related to "woke" then they were successfully fooled.

Too many Trump supporters live in a hate-fueled feedback loop with certain news shows and communities on the internet. They end up being hopelessly enraged over things that either aren't that big of a deal or aren't real to begin with.

Fuckin lol, Herschel Walker lied to his own campaign staff repeatedly while trying to keep some of his children he's "very proud of" a secret.

Seriously, how many times does the politician you're working for have to lie to you about trivial but serious shit like this before you think, "Maybe I'm not working for a very good person and maybe I shouldn't contribute towards them possibly holding public office given the depths of their dishonesty?"

But oh well, it's sure fun seeing Republicans who drone on about the destruction of the nuclear family out there lying about having multiple children out of wedlock that they try to hide away, and repeatedly lying about their very public history about shit like their education and employment history.

If they did, they wouldn't be working for a Republican.

Making money off of fabricated outrage is the winning ticket.

I was discussing this weekend about "Comedy is dead, you can't make any jokes any more or you'll get cancelled"

This is a line repeated by comedians, about comedians, used by comedians to sell tickets, at a show where you will hear that they aren't allowed to tell jokes anymore. And it is due to the woke leftists who watch woke stuff on Netflix...Yet here we are with the Bill Burr special, which aims to tell controversial jokes. The special was produced by, and available on.....Netflix.

Donald Trump removed himself from the board of his Sarasota-based social media company, records show, just weeks before the company was issued federal subpoenas by both the Securities and Exchange Commission and a grand jury in Manhattan.

Trump, the chairman of Trump Media and Technology Group, was one of six board members removed on June 8, state business records show.

Among the board members removed were Kashyap Patel, Trump's former point man in the White House; Scott Glabe, a former assistant to Trump who was counsel for the media company; and Donald Trump, Jr.

The SEC served Trump Media and Technology Group with a subpoena on June 27, according to a regulatory filing.
Wow, super convenient timing that Trump and a few loyalists removed themselves from the board of the Trump Media and Technology Group, just weeks before a Grand Jury subpoena. Super convenient indeed.

Guess poor Devin Nunes is getting left flapping in the breeze.

It's adorable Trump thinks that removing himself from the Board will prevent his culpability regarding Grand Jury subpoenas. They can still request those people who left.

    Trump Media denies this.

Contrary to an ‘exclusive’ fake news story filed by a reporter who is incapable of understanding state business records, Donald Trump remains on the board of Trump Media and Technology Group. In fact, the reporter acknowledges that Trump’s title is ‘chairman,’ but apparently has no clue what a chairman presides over. Hopefully this helps clarify things
So...those subpoenas can still get Trump's stuff? It sounds like they're asking for those subpoenas to get Trump's stuff.

Indeed, it doesn't matter. If they ask for records from specific dates or activities, people who fled after they committed that crime should have wiped their hard drives. Like, with a cloth.

So...did they lie in their filings saying that Trump and his son bearing his name aren't on the board anymore? Either way -

According to Digital World's filing, the grand jury subpoenas served on Trump's company were seeking a "subset of the same or similar documents demanded in subpoenas to Digital World and its directors."

The SEC's subpoena, according to a filing, seeks "documents relating to, among other things, Digital World and other potential counterparties for a business transaction involving TMTG."

In addition to Trump's company being served by a grand jury, "certain current and former TMTG personnel" were also subpoenaed. Those "personnel" were not identified.
It wouldn't matter, as the subpoena's cover former TMTG staff, of which Trump would count.

    Actually

    "According to Digital World's filing"
While DWAC may have been required to file this by law, it sure looks like they are fleeing. Last month I was posting about them dropping under $50. Now they're under $25. They are up 1.7% today, yippee fucking skippy, but still way down under effective starting price.

As to your question, there are three options.

    1) Trump Media is correct, and the reporter read the reports wrong. I find this unlikely, as hours later sources as strong as Reuters were backing the story and had very likely seen the state filings themselves. Or, you can read the filings yourself. Axios has a copy from April and Trump is on the board, and a copy from June where he is not.

    2) Trump Media is lying. Guess where I'm leaning.

    3) There's some splitting of hairs or other technicality going on, for example, Trump Media filed a false report, meaning Trump is still a director but the original reporter (and everyone else) read the filings as they were filed correctly. Filing a false report should be a substantial problem, by the way, see also: New York lawsuit against Trump.

Oh, speaking of, remember how Trump was fined by NYState $10,000 a day for not turning over documents until they did? Now his co-conspirators are getting the same treatment.

A New York state judge on Tuesday held one of the world’s largest real estate firms — which appraised several of former President Donald J. Trump’s properties — in contempt of court in connection with a civil investigation into whether he falsely inflated the value of his assets.

The judge, Arthur F. Engoron, said the firm, Cushman & Wakefield, had failed to comply with subpoenas from the New York attorney general’s office in its investigation into Mr. Trump and his family business. He ordered the firm to pay a $10,000 daily fine starting on Thursday until it provided the requested documents to the attorney general, Letitia James.

Justice Engoron, who separately held Mr. Trump in contempt in April, chastised the firm for failing to respond to the court’s requests before a deadline earlier this month. “Cushman & Wakefield has only itself to blame if it chose to treat the looming deadlines cavalierly,” Justice Engoron wrote in an order late Tuesday.
In related news, Steve Bannon's case is going...well, just listen to the prosecution.

The Defendant’s gamesmanship by requesting a continuance because of the very schedule he has suggested and manufactured should be rejected
Yeah, Bannon's lawyers are throwing excrement at the wall and seeing if it stinks. They're trying Executive Time again. Yes, it was already rejected. Yes, they're trying again.

It could be worse. Bannon is on trial July 18th for contempt of Congress. The person at risk, until he testifies of course, is himself. Giuliani could get Trump convicted.

According to testimony given to the House Jan. 6 committee, it was an allegedly inebriated Giuliani who urged Trump to go out and declare that he’d won on election night, even as the results were still being tallied. It was Giuliani who ran point on the many failed court cases seeking to invalidate the election in multiple states. And it was Giuliani who coordinated a group of fake electors to cast votes for Trump in the hope of getting Congress, state legislatures or both to invalidate Biden’s win.

There’s already ample evidence from the Jan. 6 committee’s public hearings that Trump likely solicited election fraud in Georgia. Much of that effort was undertaken with the help of Giuliani and the legal team he wrangled into place. It’s fitting that the same band of misfits is now poised to help prosecutors in Georgia make the case that Trump’s bid to remain in power broke state law.
I won't even bother asking cubby on this. Giuliani can't hide from this one. Oh, he'll try. But he's essentially accused of committing a crime, so his communication with Trump is (a) not privileged and (b) entirely on-topic.

    As always, there's more.

Filmmaker with Trump around January 6 says he can't understand why Trump's aides didn't know about his project

You can't exactly get onto Air Force One invisibly and you can't get into the most secure building in the world, the White House, invisibly.

We were there multiple times, we interviewed the three eldest children multiple times, and obviously the president himself three times, and so it's a bit strange that there are people from the Trump camp who are saying they didn't know about it
For the record, I have a guess: Trump is so used to thinking real life is television, that he projected that on everyone else. People wandering around filming everything is just something Trump has made so much of his life, being on camera all the time, wanting higher ratings than everyone, that having his staff also filmed never once was a blip on his sociopathic radar.

Fukin lol, Ron Johnson cut a radio ad trying to blame the death of migrants stuck in a truck at the border on "Biden's open border policy", saying that "the latest mass murder in America didn't involve guns".

This was scheduled to air starting yesterday, and his team is frantically trying to get the ad buys pulled because...well...there were multiple mass murder's involving guns over the weekend.

On top of, you know, him weaponizing dead migrants to attack Biden when Biden's policies have literally nothing to do with what happened.

Stick a fuck in the Twitter deal, it's dead.

    "You mean fork."

    No.

According to this SEC filing, yes that SEC the one you don't lie to, not only will Musk walk away from his contract (very likely claiming Twitter lied about bots, as hinted at in “make an independent assessment of the prevalence of fake or spam accounts on Twitter’s platform” leading off the filing), but also walk away from the $1 billion he apparently promised to pay if he walked away from the deal.

Twitter will likely sue, and I'm like 78.2% certain Twitter is incorporated in Delaware, because all evil corporations are. This gives Twitter a massive advantage. Delaware corporate laws are notoriously protective, and added to that, Musk intentionally went public making trouble which Twitter can (and will) claim damaged the deal directly. It's like shooting the cop before he finishes writing the parking ticket. While I doubt even an aggressively Delawarian judge would actually force the original deal to go through, I'm calling it now, Twitter will win the lawsuit sometime in 2024-2025 and be awarded over a billion in damages.

I forsee a very slim chance, along the lines of "I have sex with Tia Carrere" that Trump campaigns on Twitter in 2024. Looks like he's stuck on his own company. Well, at least he's the director of that.

...wait, what? He's not? Well, shit!
