It's the same thing when interpreting polling data from multiple sources. Each has their own methodology. You have to be well versed on how each model is created and how much weight each contributes to the most accurate path. It's not as simple as 9 out of 10 models agree type thing.

    That map is even older.

But, for now, I will use Trump's "I accept your apology" on every member of the rabid fanbase from here on out. Because they are a Trump supporter, they must admit that it is not trolling or even rude. That means no reporting from the rabid fanbase. Unless, of course, they publicly admit that what Trump said is trolling and rude. I'll take either.

Oh, I was caught up to that part. I didn't know that someone had actually quoted the law he broke.

Heh. He'll never be prosecuted for it, but the fact that he's even suspected of breaking the law, for no reason other than to defend his lie with another lie, is hilarious. It's like leaving your car at the wrong house to give you an alibi for cheating on your wife, then it gets towed.

Reminds me of a story I read recently where a guy reported his car as being stolen, and then when police consulted some nearby security cameras they discovered it was stolen while the man was stealing from a nearby scrapyard.

I intended that in the form of a question. I missed the original discussion, so figured I ask someone in the same predicament and seemed to know more than me.

I think cubby's concern was more that you would vote for a GOP candidate in place of a Dem, which, given that the GOP are culpable for Trump's shitshow, would be pretty hypocritical.

This is a spaghetti model. It's used by NOAA etc to help put together their projections but IT SHOULD NOT be used by the general public because usually there is lots of additional data that is combined with this stuff to come up with the projected path.

In addition anything past 3 days out becomes very hit or miss, pass 5 days it's almost not worth looking at. That's why you refer to the projected path by NOAA etc, not these.

Can you imagine trump, when faced with a problem he has no idea how to solve, locating the smarted person in the world and hiring them to solve it?

For that matter, can you imagine Republicans legalizing prostitution?

No, but only because Trump believes that he is the smartest person in the world and thus there is no such thing as a problem he doesn't know how to solve.

He probably thought Alabama was Georgia when he posted that tweet and now he's defending himself with lies and drawn on maps to attempt to cover up his ineptitude and for mistaking one state for another.

Doesn’t Trump’s analogy mean he is communism? Not a communist, but the ideology it self? Last I checked, it’s Trump calling all of his opponents communist or socialist. Also, McCarthyism was ran by the government, against the people. Not the people trying to unite against the government.

I don’t understand how people buy into this sort of narcissism and self indulgence by the transparent Trump. If it were Jordan Peterson, he at least puts on a facade that can trick people pretty well. Trump is like the emperor with no clothes, but without the pretense that he is wearing a suit... he knows he is marching with no clothes, but anyone saying as much is “fake news”.

So let's talk about the Office of Victims of Crime.

    "The what now?"

Part of the DoJ, the OVC was created in Reagan's tenure. Their primary purpose is getting grants to groups that, well, support the victims of crime. On their website right now are El Paso and Dayton. They also sponsor National Crime Victim's Rights Week around 4/20 (for some reason) in Washington, DC.

"Okay. Sounds like the kind of nonpartisan government office everyone can get behind."

Until the members start combing through social media to give grants based on whether or not you like Trump.

A unit of the largest U.S. public employees union has filed a complaint with the Justice Department’s Inspector General alleging that an appointee of President Donald Trump may be improperly using political criteria gleaned from social media to remove people who have expressed views contrary to Trump’s from participating in the process of awarding grants to organizations that provide services to victims of crime.

The confidential complaint focuses on Darlene Hutchinson Biehl, a Republican from Georgia
    No...

    Sharpee
    No...

    the Bahamas
    No...

that square one next to the other square one
    No..

Alabama, according to a union official who described it to Reuters.

Hutchinson Biehl was appointed by Trump in 2017 as director of the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), a part of the Justice Department which compensates victims of crime and awards grants to local governments, nonprofits and other organizations that assist victims of crimes such as human trafficking. Most of the money for the grants comes from funds collected from convicted felons, although grants to help provide services to human trafficking victims come from taxpayer funds.

The complaint alleges that Hutchinson Biehl has been scrutinizing the social media accounts of peer reviewers – paid experts who make non-binding recommendations to help ensure that the competitive grants are awarded in a fair and impartial manner - to see if their views were aligned with the Trump administration’s policies on immigration, or if they openly supported the legalization of prostitution. Hutchinson Biehl is then using that information to determine who should serve as reviewer, according to the complaint.

The complaint includes copies of internal documents showing lists of peer reviewers’ names with a column next to each in which Hutchinson Biehl made notes showing she had looked up people’s profiles on LinkedIn and Twitter, according to the union official. Some employees believe the rejection of some peer reviewers was primarily based on views expressed on social media, the complaint alleges.
Here's the thing: the complaint is 100% believable, based purely on context of not just the checkbox, but Barr acting as Trump's personal attorney, handing him money Godfather-style in tribute, and of course Trump's tweets. Saying "the DoJ is biased and Trump hates criticism on social media" already have objective evidence. It would be strange if it wasn't biased, at this point, especially given how poorly the Wall is going and immigration was one of the listed topics.
