I'm no expert, but, lawyers view that privilege as more sacred than most laws. I can't imagine anyone would want it broken lightly.

Be advised: this means Daniels' lawyer was right. Trump just volunteered evidence against himself and/or Cohen by saying he knew nothing about the NDA payment his Schroedinger's Signature is on. If he had just shut the fuck up about it, maybe this wouldn't be happening. Maybe Mueller wouldn't have incriminating evidence because, being married to a supermodel wasn't enough, no, he had to stick his dick in a porn star.

That is almost precisely what happened. To break privilege is a HUGE deal, to break the privilege between president and counsel is YUGER still. The evidence for this warrant/seizure had to have been rock solid.

What does defending him have to do with party? What does a party losing have to do with the investigation? What does Iraq have to do with this investigation?

I'm not a legal expert, but my background is in law, and the atty-client privilege is . . . significant. Attorney's allowing it to be broken is a major deal.

We saw a lot of this in organized crime, back in the say, when mafia families were smart enough to get a lawyer, but still dumb enough to involve the lawyer - hence breaking the privilege because the lawyer transcended adviser and became complicit.

I pity the poor judge that had to sign this.
