The Victorian era had a rash of "romantic" encounters in graveyards, the Romans idolised gladiators, the Greeks had all kinds of issues. It's human nature to seek after the taboo. If things have gotten more extreme, it's a simple matter of content creation being more mainstream. Literacy is finally widespread, and anyone can write a story. Combine that with an explosion in population, and the sheer number of examples has gone up, but the root is the same.

Humanity can do great things, but people can also do dark, horrible things. That's why we need people like Mueller to root out the people who go too far...

    (Queue segways back on topic).

The only "link" I can see is applying the examples is number 2.

White collar crimes in the US get a slap on the wrist (A stern talking to, some fines). When they should get the book thrown at them. The reason these people take the risk is they know the "punishment" will be the equivalent of being sent to bed without dinner, in at least 9 out of 10 times. Unless someone steps in and puts on the Adult Pants. Like Mueller has.

I'm probably horribly wrong. But now covfefe and bacon!

While Mueller has put on the adult pants unfortunately when you see Manafort get 7 years for basically being a traitor to his country then it's pretty difficult to say that the wrist slaps are being discontinued.

Because Dolan Turnip can pardon him most likely. Soon as he was done with the second sentencing, SDNY got him. On a shitload of counts. Not the same as the feds got him. No pardon due to state levels and the SCOTUS case involving Double Jeopardy that may/may not let Pres Pardons affect the state if it's the same crime not being applied since it's different crimes. Mueller shared info with SDNY. Plus he can't plead the 5th since. The feds may have "slap on the wrist" but SDNY is goint to hatefuck him.

I'd be surprised if he gets pardoned. Trump isn't known for his strategic brilliance, but anyone can see that Manafort is going down irrespective of a pardon, and that pardoning him would be at minimum a bad look. Trump also isn't known for his deep loyalty, why add another brick to the wall of obstruction of justice, especially when the obvious thwarting of the pardon would make him look weak. He may anyway as, again, not known for brilliance, but this one might be too dumb even for him.

Figured we'd keep this running with the revelation that broidy was raided last summer. This is another ex-RNC finance deputy chair, one who was supposedly paying cohen hush money for another porn star to have an abortion, but the raid was about:

The search warrant cites three potential crimes that authorities are investigating: conspiracy, money laundering and violations of the law barring covert lobbying on behalf of foreign officials. To obtain a search warrant, authorities have to convince a judge that there’s a probable cause they will find evidence of those specific crimes.
So, in other words, he was likely facilitating bribes (as he's been convicted of bribery before).

Someone's got some spalinin to do.

Confirmation from Deutsche Bank that Trump is only worth 788m and inflated his wealth to secure loans for various projects. Over 2b in loans at that. This plays into what we knew before where Justice Kennedy's son was the one at Deutsche Bank signing off on these loans even though he set off a bunch of red flags that would disqualify lending.

Isn't that bank loan fraud, which is a felony?

Also brings Kennedy's resignation back under scrutiny.

    Yes, yes it is.

Trump is a criminal. And also apparently not a billionaire.

No wonder he didn't want Mueller digging into the finances.

Which, would be if found to be true, a reason to impeach Kavanaugh. Please be true. That drunk shitgibbon should be removed.

So we have not one, but potentially 4 (Trump, Ivanka, Jared, Ross) fake billionaires either elected to or appointed to White House positions? That's fucking impressive, man. I don't think there's ever been a bigger gathering of fake-billionaires that has ever occurred in the world. Period.

Billionaire debtors? They just forgot the second word...

I dunno. If Kavanaugh got it through fraudulent means, even though he may not be in on it as slimy as he is, they should remove him anyway, but that is my opinion alone though.

And if Kennedy was engaged in fraud, that would mean he'd have to be impeached and then the President would get to nominate someone to the court, which is what happened.

Many here have said the same thing; the real juice will come from New York, not Mueller.
Yes there are a set number of seats for the Supreme Court. This is set by federal law (last changed in late 1800s). Each seat is a specific seat as well, as each Justice oversees a specific court circuit. Kavanaugh replaced Kennedy in the seat with oversight of the Seventh Circuit.
