A character customization revamp: What would you want?

WoW has always been the worst MMO on the market when it comes to character customization. Even it's #1 competitor back in 2005: EverQuest 2, blew WoW out of the water when it came to personalizing a character and making them look how you wanted (eye color, scars, facial mapping and slidebars).

WoW didn't need Skyrim or The Sims level of character creation to be the most successful MMO, but over a decade has passed and WoW hasn't improved on the character customizing - I believe even Runescape has surpassed WoW in character customization.. and it's a game with 5 inch tall sprites..

What would you like to see in WoWs character customization, on the unproven assumption that the next expansion will improve the system?

I'd like to see an age slider that gradually worsens your characters complexion and darkens lines and wrinkles in both face and body.

A very tiny height slider that lets you alter your character scale, but not too drastically in either direction, maybe 10% in both directions. Something not really noticeable unless standing side by side with someone of the same race.

Eye color

Body and face scars

Body tone, again something not hugely noticeable, but lets you reduce the width of your character's chest, butt, thighs and arms. So we aren't forced to look roided up even as cloth classes.

Voice!! This is my biggest one. Let us choose between more than one voice for our character. Record every voice emote with a new VA for each race and gender. It would be a HUGE QoL change for people like myself who play multiple characters of the same race (if it ain't Troll, reroll).

Undergarment color/style since so many toys make us naked now. Probably appreciated more by eRPers.. so maybe forget this one.

Basically everything that GW2 has is missing in WoW. I'd also like to see sth similar to the personal character story.

Number one customization for me would be basic subrace stuff - specifically #1 request for me, Wildhammer Dwarves and Maghar Orcs.

Add those two? I don't mind what else you do.

After that, main things I'd want to see would be:

1) Minor height slider as you suggest.

2) More scar/tattoo/etc. options.

3) Some kind of actual "skin choice" for the body - right now, skin tone and skin texture for the body are linked (I believe), and in most cases there is only one skin texture. Give us some more skin textures - this would also allow for more and less "defined" looks without actually needing new models.

4) More hair. Better hair. Including facial hair.

Anything else is a bonus.

Are sliders even possible in wow's engine? If so I'd like them for everything!

If not, way more hairstyles, hair/eye colour, scars, tattoos to compensate for the inability to change a face/body shape. Some race/class specific doodads would be nice too like the quivers and libram thing they showed off a couple of years ago

Body slides, tatoos/scars,armor dying, more hair colours, option for eye colour if fits for race(and say a pally can have yellow/gold eyes), more hairstyles, more jewelry options(maybe neck or armbands like fem belf in bc cinematic?), more skin options and aviable at barber for higher price then all rest, height would be nice aswell.
eye patch and blindfold options for al armor classes as costmetic gear option aswell id like or like how dh's have it, a few nicly detailed ones for each race and gender could bring alot to looks imo. Options for weapons to be larger/smaller with predefined sizes.

Doesnt have to be all, but any more customization is welcome.

Subraces would be nice. But I would like to see ones that actually make sense and aren’t just for the rule of cool (cough*void elves*cough)

More facial presets would be nice. Or the ability to select eyes/nose/mouth individually to add greater variety.

I don't need silly details like eye color, size and shape of nose, protrusion of the chin and other facial subtleties you don't really see at all anyway.

The most important thing would be different body types. Male humans for example are unplayable for me, even though I'd actually love to have a human character. But as long as the only option is this obnoxiously misproportioned, stocky steroid head, it's not an option. I would like to have the possibility to create leaner, more athletic as opposed to buff characters and be able to make them shorter or taller.

Also more hair styles.

Yeah an option for jewelry would be great as well! Things like feathers and baubles hanging off Tauren horns or Troll tusks, jewelry for blood elves like you said. Different options for tail hoops and rings for Draenei. Earrings and face piercings for humans, NEs, Goblins, orcs. Beard jewelry for dwarves.

I wan't them to update the old voices. Just have the same lines (add/change some maybe) but have better voices. I love the WoD draenei/orc voices over the vanilla ones by far.

Weapon size scaling; currently laughably ridiculously oversized on some models. Leave the default as it is, or possibly even 25% larger for those feeling under-endowed, but let us scale down to 50% at least.

Having Felo'melorn drag along the ground is not a good look. Also, shields the size of barn doors.

Customization with sliders rather than cookie cutter options for each thing. Only thing that could be cookie cutter would be hairstyles, but everything else should have WAAAY more options. I should be able to pick what color eyes I have along with what my face looks like rather than having the whole face being one cookie cutter option.

Minimum level of customization should be what SW:ToR or even FFXIV have...which is not much when compared to some others, like Black Desert.

Scars, tattoos, piercings for males (I know male goblins have some, but that's ear dependant on what they get if I'm not mistaken), Orcs without hunched neck/upper backs, more hair styles - I'd love for my orc to have the option for hair similar to Grom or Kargath from WoD. At the moment, that's all I can think of.
