Man, anthropomorphic lions? That'd be even weirder. It can work with apes, because they're bipedal. Is there a movie of anthropomorphic quadraped animals? Because Planet of the Apes, they still seem like they could knuckle down and look like outright apes.

Thats the artform. You make it subtle so you can still show emotion, but not jarring enough that it takes you out of it.

It is easier with apes faces of course compared to lions....but thats why it was a good pick for CGI for planet of the apes.
Lion king did not really need a photo realistic remake of a cartoon but disney gonna disney and make that bread

Yeah, Caesar...it was heart wrenching you saw it in his face as he let go of his hate as he slowly put the gun down...and then his earlier surprise when he saw a little girl weep over the death of Luca (?) the big gorilla that put her a flower in her hair...and then "Bad Ape;" some saw him as comedy relief...but most saw him as he really was, broken by years of loneliness...
Movie just had a lot of emotion going...

Is it wrong that I secretly want them to do Lion King 2: Simba's Pride aswell? Its such an underrated movie compared to the original :P
